This is the main masthead which tells the reader what magazine this is and what type of magazine this is.

The main image is also covering some of the masthead meaning that this is an established magazine as the production company are positive that the reader will still know what magazine this is even if some of the masthead is covered up.

This text is larger than the rest and is also the same colour as the masthead which suggests that this is what the main article is about as the reader is drawn in to see what the text is about.

This puff draws the reader in as it stands out in the blue background. This also encourages the reader to buy the magazine as it is offering them something for free inside the magazine.

The main image ties into the theme of the magazine as it is of a mountain biker. The colour of his t-shirt also ties into the background colour of the magazine which also covers up some of the masthead. This draws the reader into the magazine as they might know who the rider is and there might be an article on him.

This puff on the magazine cover tells the readers that when they buy the magazine they will get a free gift. This encourages people to buy the magazine to get the free gift.

The main image tells the reader what the magazine is about and it also tells them that the main article is going to be about the main image as there is some text next to it which says “inside”.

The masthead is very clear and stands out from the magazine so the reader knows what the magazine is easily.

This main cover line tells the reader what the main image is and also gives the reader some more information of what the main article is about.

These cover lines at the bottom of the cover tell the reader what else features in the magazine which could persuade the reader to buy the magazine if they are interested in some of the other articles.

This strapline encourages readers to buy the magazine as they are claiming that this is the best magazine in this genre meaning they’re more likely to buy it.
