PRIMA and K2:OUR HISTORY SINCE 1964

PRIMA was established in 1964, thanks to the initiative and the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Mr. Benito Mazzuferi, who had the merit of creating a simple, low-cost product, the stuc-co K2 , which has become a true ICON in the industry.

PRIMA and its trademark K2 represent a winning combination, a symbol of the success, reliability and quality of MADE in ITALY.

Appignano, March 17, 1964 is a historic date for PRIMA, because it marks the first processing of stucco, accomplished by the founder of the company Colorificio Marchigiano, which produ-ces stucco for wood and walls; the stucco K2 was born, at first as stucco paste and then as stucco powder. The historic brand is still recognizable today in the whole range of PRIMA.

The great transformation began on 16 July 1990, the year when the company, established as Colorificio Marchigiano, adopts its current corporate structure, starting a brilliant development that, through major investments in buildings and cutting edge facilities, allows to extend and strengthen the first production unit.

The second stage, essential for the expansion of PRIMA, took place between the end of the nineties and the beginning of the new millennium, when the company is subjected to a grea-ter competition, both in industrial and commercial terms: in

this respect new stuccoes are designed to meet the require-ments of the customers, which have become more numerous and demanding.

Currently, PRIMA operates in a factory which extends on a co-vered and not covered surface of about 10,000 square meters, where the entire production is carried out. Production is com-pletely automated, from dosage to mixing of raw materials, to the packaging of the finished product, by means of modern technologies that govern each step.

• l’antiCONDENSA PRO.64, a powder stucco, which, thanks to its hollow ceramic microspheres, allows the reduction of the thermal conductivity, making the environment thermally insulated, both from the cold and the heat. FEATURES: l’antiCONDENSA PRO.64 stucco is a dry mix composed of selected alabaster chalk, pure finely ground calcium carbonate, hollow ceramic beads, and specific additives to improve adhesion to the supports and the workability under the implement. The stucco powder l’antiCONDENSA PRO.64 is an expertly calibra-ted gypsum-based mortar used for smoothing inte-riors and making smooth surfaces. Its warm effect derives from the introduction of hollow ceramic beads which reduce the thermal conductivity of the product, insulating the environment form both cold and heat. This effect significantly reduces the condensation effect resulting from the thermal contrast on the walls causing mold. The l’antiCONDENSA PRO.64 stucco features as well a good soundproofing effect.

METHOD OF USE: the surface of the supports must be free of dust, residue of old mortars, salt efflorescence and traces of oil, grease, wax etc. ... that must be re-moved beforehand. L’antiCONDENSA PRO.64 must be mixed with clean water; stirring can be performed with a mechanical stirrer at low speed or manually. Stir until you obtain a homogeneous mix that must be free of lumps. Processing is done with a metal spatula in seve-ral horizontal and vertical steps; any subsequent ope-rations can be performed only when the previous layer is completely dry. Before applying paints and uphol-stery, make sure that the layer of stucco is fully harde-ned and dry, and avoid subjecting it to sudden chan-ges of temperature in environment heating.

WHERE TO USE: for lime and cement based surfaces it is recommended to apply a coat of primer ACRIL FIX K2 before the stucco or to ensure that the plaster is well seasoned.1. Treatment of cool walls creating condensation and

in case molds have occurred.2. Solution for poorly ventilated environments.3. Protection and coating of zones subject to strong

thermal contrast.4. Reduction of sound reverberation in crowded or

noisy premises, such as restaurants, salons, work-shops, etc..

METHOD OF USE: thoroughly clean the surface to be treated, completely removing any residues of old pain-ts, plastering, saline efflorescences and any traces of fats, oils and waxes.Mix manually and/or with an in a container, 1 (a) part of clean water with 2 (two) parts of K2 POWDER up to the complete absorption of the product, to obtain a cre-amy paste free from lumps. Do not use the product when it is setting, nor add water to restore the lost workability. Use K2 POWDER in its original state, without adding any extraneous materials.

Assogesso/CAGEMA, the Association of Italian Industry of Lime, Gyp-sum and Malte has developed the UNI11424 “Standard for laying on Structural Systems in coated plaster slabs” which, in the paragraph on surface quality establishes four levels of filling of joints and fini-shing of plasterboard surfaces, to be carried out before the applica-tion of specific final decorative solutions.The classification of the quality level of the wall and ceiling surfaces varies according to the final decorative solution to be applied, but may also depend on the position inside the building or on the expo-sure to light of the surface itself.

PRIMA, whose vocation has always been projected to the improve-ment of quality standards, immediately implemented the new laying standards for the construction systems in gypsum slabs, aligning its specialized products for plasterboard with the standards.

NEWSTUK PROFESSIONAL and NEWSTUK SPECIAL the two specialized products have highlighted the quality levels by adopting immediately visible stamp, which certifies the potential of the product and the level of finish achievable according to the standard.Quality level (second standing UNI11424) Q1-Q4.• Q1: base filling of the joint between the coated plaster slabs and covering of the fixing elements (screws); used for surfaces with sim-ple finishes.• Q2: base filling and subsequent finishing and shaving that allows a continuous covering between the joint and the plate, without evident signs of the spatula.• Q3: base filling of the joint and subsequent fini-shing and shaving, through a light stuccoing of the surface, closing any pores and/or imperfections of the sheet itself.• Q4: base filling of the joint, subsequent finishing and shaving, light grouting of the surface to eliminate any pores and/or imperfections of the slab and shaving to the thickness of the total surface.

FEATURES: Mb cement stucco is a cement-based, fi-ber-reinforced mortar composed of cement, quartz, light aggregates and specific additives, with a particle size of less than 0.6 mm, which make the product hi-ghly filling and anti-shrinkage, giving high adhesion and workability.

METHOD OF USE: carefully clean the surface to be trea-ted, completely removing any residual old paint and plasters not sufficiently anchored. Moisten the af-fected surface to promote perfect adhesion. Knead by hand and / or with a mechanical stirrer at low speed in a container, Mb cement stucco with about 28% of water until a homogeneous mixture can be worked that can be worked for about 45 minutes.The recommended thickness for each layer is about 1 (one) cm; for filling you can reach even 5 (five) cm. Apply with a spatula and / or trowel according to need. The setting times are variable depending on the thick-ness and climatic conditions. Mb cement stucco must be used in its original state, without the addition of other materials.

WHERE TO USE: the product thus obtained is ideal for repairing concrete elements, irregular plasters (beams - columns). Excellent for shaving prefabricated panels, facades and external supports.Ideal for the restoration of exterior decorative ele-ments - interiors: balconies, corners, frames and stairs.

FEATURES: excellent stucco paste ready to use. Specific for indoor use. Excellent filling power and excellent yield. Delicately scented, it does not yellow and rot. Free of solvent-based substances.Excellent adhesion on any type of support that is wall or wood. Simple to apply. Easy to sand. Excellent anchorage for any type of painting and / or wallpaper. Can be painted with any type of paint.

METHOD OF USE: carefully clean the surface to be trea-ted. Completely remove any residual old paint, plaster, not sufficiently anchored. Apply with a spatula, and, if diluted with water, with a brush and spray. In case of high thicknesses (over 2 mm) it is advisable to fill the surface with more successive applications. On particu-larly porous supports, based on lime and concrete, it is recommended a prior application on the surface of our primer ACRIL FIX K2.

FEATURES: the osmotic mortar PRO.64 consists of white cement, quartz and carbonates with calibrated granulometry not exceeding 0.4 mm and specific addi-tives that allow a good workability under the tool and adhesion to the supports. The special addition allows to block the salts and to not allow free water to pene-trate into the masonry.

METHOD OF USE: carefully clean the surfaces to be treated, removing any paint and/or plaster residues that are not sufficiently anchored. Wet the surfaces to be treated until rejection. After preparing the dou-gh, rest the mortar for about 10 minutes. Apply 1 (one) first coat of product on the surface to be treated with a brush to fill all the possible hidden cavi-ties. Then apply a layer of about 2 -3 mm with a spatu-la or trowel.

WHERE TO USE: the osmotic mortar PRO.64 is employed for the restoration of masonry subject to strong moi-sture, such as indoor or outdoor masonry, basements, irrigation channels, manholes, lift wells, foundation walls and any damp environment to be restored.

WHERE TO USE: the fine scagliola of the line BRIKO K2 is used in the manufacture of plastering and finishes in general. It can be used as base plastering with mini-mum thickness of 5 mm, applied with multiple layers directly on the brick and as smoothing, spreading the product with American spatula with a thickness grea-ter than 3 mm on the previously wetted surface.

“Cement based plastering” FOR ALL SUPPORTS FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE

FEATURES: the “cement based plastering” and se-lected aggregates of the line BRIKO K2 is an excellent mortar for the architectural restoration of indoor and outdoor masonry and for a whole series of additional works.

METHOD OF USE: before applying the product, make sure that the surface to be treated is clean and free from dust. Pour into a clean container 1 (one) part of water and 3 (three) parts of product. Mix until obtaining a homogeneous mortar, that in view of its particular strength and elasticity, maintains a perfect workability even after a considerable interval of time from the preparation of the mix.

WHERE TO USE: the excellent characteristics of plasticity, elasticity, workability, resistance to free-zing/thawing, make it ideal for use in indoor and out-door masonry work, such as: architectural restoration of degraded plastering, surface finishes, fillings of buried ducts and seals of covering elements, repairs and small interventions. The cement plastering should not be used for the restoration of structural concrete.


WARNINGS: do not mix with plaster and/or chalky base products.

Use the “cement based plastering” of the line BRIKO K2 at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C.Working time is about an hour. Set start time is about one hour. Set end time is about 15 hours.

FEATURES: the gypsum-based plastering of the line BRIKO K2 is a high quality product. Ideal for masonry work on indoor surfaces.

METHOD OF USE: before applying the product, make sure that the base is clean and free from dust.Pour into a clean container 1 (one) part of water and 2 (two) parts of product. To avoid the formation of lumps, let the product rest for about 5 minutes and then mix, until you obtain a smooth, creamy mortar. Prepare a quantity of product usable in max. 40 minu-tes with temperatures of about 20 °C.

WHERE TO USE: the gypsum-based plastering of the line BRIKO K2 is used as smoothing product on bottom plasters for indoor use. It can also be used on cement based monolayer plastering after insulation with pri-mer ACRIL FIX K2 and on various types of masonry.

FEATURES: ACRIL FIX K2 is a particular acrylic resin in aqueous dispersion, with high stability in an alkaline environment and with a particularly fine particle size. This allows its penetration into the smallest pores and capillaries.

METHOD OF USE: apply ACRIL FIX K2 on perfectly clean surfaces and surfaces, free from residues of foreign materials, oils, greases, waxes, lime paints, etc.

WHERE TO USE: ACRIL FIX K2 is used in all cases which require improving the surface resistance of the con-crete and for the consolidation of plasters, mortars, levellers and laying mortars of old masonry before re-storation. Used as a saturation impregnating agent on dry surfaces, it acts as waterproofing agent for any type of masonry providing a wet effect.

PRACTICAL TIPS: ACRIL FIX K2 must be protected from frost and extreme temperatures, so it should be sto-red at temperatures between 0° and 50°C.

WARNINGS: if the product is too viscous for the requi-red application, you can dilute it with water to obtain the required degree of penetration.After dilution, it is necessary to stir occasionally to restore the homogeneity of the dispersion.

YIELD: on supports with average porosity, the consu-mption is about 200 g/m2.

FEATURES: IRON RUST GEL K2 is a viscous, dark brown liquid, capable of transforming the rust into a self-pro-tecting iron salt and to phosphatize the metallic iron against subsequent oxidation.

METHOD OF USE: to get the best results with IRON RUST GEL K2 it is advisable to remove coarse rust by mecha-nical means, to avoid product waste, then apply it with a brush, roller or spray.

WHERE TO USE: IRON RUST GEL K2 is used for removing rust from every type of ferrous structure, such as: formwork structures, reinforcement bars, fixtures, rai-lings, gates, car bodies, etc. ..

PRACTICAL TIPS: in its original closed packaging, stored away from direct sunlight, at temperatures between 0° and 40°C .

WARNINGS: IRON RUST K2 GEL has a strongly acid pH and therefore must be handled with care. It is advi-sable to vigorously shake the package before use.

YIELD: consumption depends on the state of the surface and of the layer of rust.With one litre of IRON RUST GEL K2 normally it is pos-sible to treat 10 to 15 m2 of iron surface.
