COLORED EPOXY Finish Physical Properties ChartChemical resistance: Coating material shall meet the following performance requirements with respect to resistance to acids and solvents:

a) Suspend coated samples in a container at least 6 cubic feet in capacity, approximately 12" above open beakers, eachcontaining 100cc of 70% nitric acid, 94% sulphuric acid and 35% hydrochloric acid, respectively. After exposure to these fumes for 150 hours, the finish on the samples shall show no discolouration, disintegration or other effects.

b) Subject coated samples to the direct action of the following reagents and solvents at a temperature of 25°C dropping from aburette at the rate of 60 drops per minute for ten minutes:

Finish on the samples shall not rupture, though slight discolouration or possible softening is permissible.

Composition and ManufactureThe production and processing of component parts for laboratory fittings involves brass casting, forging, automatic screwmachining, roll-threading, bending, assembling, plating, coating, electrostatically applied epoxy painting and testing. Thisdiversification in manufacturing operations, with almost unlimited design scope, permits each fitting component to be fabricated by the method most appropriate to its application resulting in a very high, value-added quality case-work fitting. Fittings aremanufactured using alloy compositions noted in the table below:

Vandal Resistance• Check-Piston located in outlet nozzle…

– Prevents water from entering gas line and flooding it.– Prevents insertion of thin objects (i.e., pencils) into open

valve which if broken off could cause damage to sealingsurfaces, resulting in a gas leak.Note: Check piston not included with vacuum service.

• Handle cannot be removed…- Handles in most tapered plug-type valves can easily beremoved resulting in a dangerous gas leak.

Safety• CSA approved and tested to ANSI Z21.15,

CAN/CGA-3.16-M88.• Tested at high (125 psi) and low (0.5 psi)

pressures.

Functional Performance• Cannot be damaged by high pressure testing which tends to

“blow-out” grease seals in tapered plug-type valves.• Floating ball-type design allows for minimum friction and

permits easy finger-type control compared to the inherentstiffness of a tapered plug-type valve.

• Maintenance free…There is no need to regrease sealingsurfaces or take valve apart.

• Longer Life…Because of it’s design (mating metal-to-metalsurface with a grease seal) a plug-type valve has it’s sealwear out much faster than a ball valve which has no metal-to-metal sealing surfaces (O-Ring seals are used).

• Meets ADA prescribed 5 lb. force pressure requirement.
