The History of Böllhoff

• 1877: Wilhelm Böllhoff opens a wholesale hardware business in Herdecke, Germany.
• 1923: A branch is opened in Bielefeld following occupation of the Ruhr area following World War I. Joseph Böllhoff, Wilhelm’s son, leads company into specialization of threaded
fasteners.
• 1950: First sales branch opens in Stuttgart
• 1952: Opening of first production facility in Bielefeld
• 1964: Opening of production facilities and sales offices in Mexico and Brazil
• 1971: Opening of production facility and sales office in France
• 1981: Opening of branches in UK and Spain
• 1992: Opening of branch in the U.S.A.
• 2000: Acquisition of Rivnut production facility in the U.S.A
