This was launched in August 2012 by Sean Rad, Justin Mateen, Jonathan Badeen, and Dinesh Moorjani of Hatch Labs. It was initially piloted on college campuses, the first being the University of Southern California. It uses Facebook profiles to gather basic information and analyze users' social graph, which then matches candidates who are most likely to be compatible based on geographical location, number of mutual friends, and common interests. It allows the users to anonymously like or reject potential matches using a simple swiping gesture. If two users are interested in each other, it is a "match" and it introduces the two users and allows them to chat. What are we talking about ?

Google posted a model code of conduct online for software developers and others taking part in an Explorer program providing early access to Google Glass. The company appeared intent on avoiding the kinds of caustic run-ins that have seen some Glass wearers being tossed from eateries, pubs or other establishments due to concerns over camera capabilities built into devices. The code of conduct says:

“Don’t be creepy or rude (aka, a X). Respect others and if they have questions about Glass, don’t get snappy. If you’re asked to turn your phone off, turn Glass off as well. Breaking the rules or being rude will not get businesses excited about Glass and will ruin it for other Explorers.”

This Algorithm was developed by three Scientists whose surnames’ first letters contribute to the name of the algorithm. It was developed in 1997 at MIT.

The Abstract of the paper for the Algo is as follows: The system includes a communications channel coupled to at least one

terminal having an encoding device and to at least one terminal having a decoding device. A message-to-be-transferred is enciphered to ciphertextat the encoding terminal by encoding the message as a number M in a predetermined set. That number is then raised to a first predetermined power (associated with the intended receiver) and finally computed. The remainder or residue, C, is... computed when the exponentiated number is divided by the product of two predetermined prime numbers (associated with the intended receiver).

X is a search heuristic that mimics the process of natural selection. This heuristic (also sometimes called a metaheuristic) is routinely used to generate useful solutions to optimization and search problems.

They belong to the larger class of evolutionary algorithms (EA), which generate solutions to optimization problems using techniques inspired by natural evolution, such as inheritance, mutation, selection, and crossover.

They find applications in bioinformatics, phylogenetics, computationalscience, engineering, mathematics, physics and other fields.

X is a multi-paradigm, compiled programming language created by Apple for iOS and OS X development. Introduced at Apple's 2014 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), X is designed to work with Apple's Cocoa and Cocoa Touch frameworks and the large body of existing Objective-C code written for Apple products. Swift is intended to be more resilient to erroneous code ("safer") than Objective-C, and also more concise.

A _____ is an n-ary tree with a variable but often large number of children per node. It consists of a root, internal nodes and leaves. The root may be either a leaf or a node with two or more children.

The primary value of a _____ is in storing data for efficient retrieval in a block-oriented storage context — in particular, filesystems. This is primarily because unlike binary search trees, _____ have very high fanout(number of pointers to child nodes in a node, typically on the order of 100 or more), which reduces the number of I/O operations required to find an element in the tree.

This type of simulation belongs to a broad class of algorithms that rely on repeated random number sampling. This simulation is named after a famous place in Europe.

It modern version was invented in the late 1940s by Stanislaw Ulam, while he was working on nuclear weapons projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Immediately after Ulam'sbreakthrough, John von Neumann understood its importance and programmed the ENIAC computer to carry out calculations.

X is a data storage virtualization technology that combines multiple disk drive components into a logical unit for the purposes of data redundancy or performance improvement.

Data is distributed across the drives in one of several ways, referred to as levels, depending on the specific level of redundancy and performance required.

Each scheme provides a different balance between the key goals: reliability, availability, performance, and capacity.

Jason Duval was picked up on a warrant because he failed to pay court fees resulting from a drug possession case in 2012. Framingham Police went to Duval’s apartment with a warrant from Natick District Court. He had been charged previously with possession of a Class C substance, two counts of possession of a Class B substance and driving to endanger. Duval explained to the that he is in the middle of a divorce and had no means to pay the $450 that he failed pay previously. His original charges were dismissed but Duval still needed to handle the fine he received when arrested in 2012. The judge offered the man a few days in jail in order to erase his debt but he pleaded not to be locked up any further. The judge told the 39-year-old he did not trust him enough to release without any bail because he doubted Duval would pay. The judge decided to offer the broke man a challenge to come up with an alternative. He said:

“I will give you a chance to be creative. If you can come up with a creative idea to convince me that you will come back, I will work with you.”

What creative idea did Jason Duval come up with? What did he offer the judge?
