General Use Regulations Middle Toussaint Unit 1. Vehicles must be parked in designated areas. 2. Camping and fires are prohibited. 3. You may only possess and use approved non-toxic shot. Buckshot is not permitted for any hunting on the Refuge (Single Projectile ammuni- tion such as Slug or Rifle rounds are not considered Shot”). 4. Hunting or shooting within 150 feet (50 yards) of any structure, build- ing, or parking lot is prohibited; shooting from any road is prohibited. 5. Access is limited to 1½ hour prior to the State listed morning shooting time and 1 hour after the State listed evening shooting time. No nighttime hunting. 6. Hunting dogs are allowed, provided the dog is under the immediate control of the hunter at all times. 7. Trapping is by Refuge-issued permit only. Consult Refuge Manager for information. 8. ATVs/UTVs are prohibited. 9. Baiting is prohibited. Big Game Hunting We allow hunting of white-tailed deer and turkey on designated public hunting areas in accordance with State regulations subject to the following conditions: 1. Driving or screwing any metal objects into a tree, or hunting from a tree in which a metal object has been driven or screwed is prohibited. 2. One portable tree stand or ground blind per hunter; they are required to have a durable water-proof tag or stamp bearing the name and mail- ing address or unique Division of Wildlife customer identification num- ber of the user or owner. 3. Tree stands can be installed 30 days prior to the start of the deer ar- chery season. All stands or blinds are required to be removed no later than March 3 rd each year. Middle Toussaint Unit

1. Vehicles must be parked in designated areas.

2. Camping and fires are prohibited.

3. You may only possess and use approved non-toxic shot. Buckshot is not permitted for any hunting on the Refuge (Single Projectile ammuni-tion such as Slug or Rifle rounds are not considered “Shot”).
