DNA Young Democrats Vision DocumentTRANSCRIPT
In 2011, the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) emerged as the most viable third party option in the Bahamas’ history by mounting an
impressive campaign in under a year, running a full complement of
candidates and securing more than 8% of the electoral votes. Since then,
the DNA has grown rapidly and expanded its support base, proving itself within the last few years as a political force to be reckoned with.
AsAs the youth arm of the DNA, the membership of the Young Democrats is equally invested in the state of the country. Over the past several months,
we have observed the lack of attention being paid by the current political
directorate to matters directly affecting young people. As young
Bahamians, it is imperative to us that the voice of Generation Green
is not only heard, but that the interests of young people in this country are
protected and advanced by the government of the day.
InIn this document, The Young Democrats will outline some of the key
issues facing Generation Green. Through it, we hope to open the
dialogue needed to fully address these issues, and suggest viable solutions
which will produce long-term benefits for future generations.
