    4. VISUAL INSPECTION OF STATOR

Check presence of any foreign materials instator bore, space between stator coreand casing.

Check for any visual damage to statorcore.

Check that all fasteners are tight.

Ensure DC resistance test and IR / PI testof winding completed.

    5. VISUAL INSPECTION OF ROTOR

    (Contd.)

Inspect compressor blades and retainingrings for any chipping of metal, dentsmarks, cracks etc.

Inspect journal for pitting and scratches.

Check for positioning of all balancingweights as per its proper looking.

Check locking of all screws in centeringring.

    7. INSERTION & REMOVAL OF

    HYDROGEN COOLERS

TE stator end shield houses 4 numbershydrogen coolers.

Inspection of generator before placementof H2 cooler.

    8. GENERATOR ROTOR INSERTION

Generator rotor supported on end shieldmounted bearing at each end of thestator.

Rotor insertion inside the stator casing iscarried out after stator has been placed onfoundation & its alignment wrt turbinecentre line has been done.

NOTE - Ensure that rotor does not touchany part of stator during threading in.

    9. ALIGNMENT OF GENERATOR

Alignment of generator rotor wrt turbinerotor.

The two shaft must be aligned along theline of their natural deflection (catenary)

Alignment of generator rotor relative to analready aligned turbine shaft perform by acorresponding shifting of generatorhousing in axial & radial direction.

    9. ALIGNMENT OF GENERATOR

    (Contd.)

Aligning the generator rotor relative to thestator core.

Positioning the generator rotor in axialdirection.

    Aligning the complete shaft line.

Run out check at the coupling. Final tightening of coupling bolts.

    10. MOUNTING AND ALIGNMENT OF

    FANS

Circulation of cooling air is obtained by amultistage fan at the turbine in of thegenerator.

Axial & radial clearances is to be checkedbetween fan blades.
