CHAIRMAN

MESSAGE

Dear Rotaractors,

It is with an overwhelming emotion of gratitude and responsibility that I write my first message to you. I consider it a pride and honor to serve at DRC for this most dynamic Rotaract Team in the world. As I sat to type this note I was reminded of the famous quote of Anatole France “To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.” This quote truly encompasses the four key parameters to success - dream big, plan well, believe in yourself and channelize your action using your intelligence and courage appropriately. The fiery baton of the DRR of this illustrous District 3230 is being passed on to the capable hands of Subhadhra and all of us at the District are eagerly anticipating an enriching year. I’m aware that she has been preparing exceptionally well and I’m confident all that planning will result in rich results. Her talent of head and heart, together with the enthusiastic and efficient core team that she has cherry picked, will enable her to deliver a dazzling year and make it shine like never before. I’m a true believer of constant communication and my club and I have immensely benefited from this. I urge each of you to capsule your plans and actions in weekly / monthly bulletins which we look forward to receive at the District. This would allow you to showcase your efforts and raise awareness and partnerships for your good work. I would like to take this opportunity to announce 3 awards that I would be conferring every month to the best Rotaract Club on :

1. The most innovative Rotaract project2. The best monthly bulletin / report (I would like this to be submitted by the 10th of the following month)3. The best Rotaract - Rotary partnership

I look forward to each of you setting new benchmarks and partnering effectively with your host Rotary clubs to truly go MAD (Make a Difference). Congratulations to all of you on a fresh new year and look forward to working with you all, as we at Rotary gear up to Serve Humanity this 2016-17.

Warm RegardsPHF Rtn.Srinivasan.R,Past President Rotary Club of Madras North (2014-15)District Rotaract Chairman (2016-17)

Greetings and a warm welcome to our very first issue of GENESIS.!

I extend my gratitude to Rtr PP PHF Subhadhra V Marimuthu, District Rotaract Representative 16-17 for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be the chairperson of the Editorial Board and to handle achallenging post in rotaract, further encouraging me to go ahead and work hard. The entire GENESISteam has been constantly supportive towards the newsletter and will continue to do so.The principle of ‘unity is strength’ is the primary basis of peace and happiness of a society and the nation. The peace and happiness of a family depends on the unity among the members of the family.Observance of this principle is required by every member to stand with others in time of real need.At this installation ceremony I wish each and every member to pledge unity among themselves and alsoensure that we all will stand together when there is a real need.

Lets Make A Difference by staying united.Regards,Rtr. Sneha G. TukrelEditorial Board-Chairperson 16-17

MPSE

Glimpse, was a sneak peek into Rtr.PP PHF DRR Subhadra Marimuthu’s months of planning asDRRn and DRRe.

An attempt to create the Guinness World Record for the world’s Largest All Women Pink ribbon formation - in association with Brand avatar and India turns pink was introduced to the leaders of tomorrow, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm.

Post lunch a number of seniors in Rotaract and aspiring District officials joined in to witness Subhadra present her plans for the year in complete detail and the structure of her District official’s team. Various topics where discussed and clarifications were sought. Her major areas of focus were thrown light upon and the various special projects were discussed in detail.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams and when we believe in them together, we can truly - Make A Difference.

It gives me great pride to write my message for the first newsletter of the District Rotaract Council 16-17 | RID 3230. As the last Chairperson for the prestigious District Rotaract Pets & Sets of Rotary International District 3230 ‘DAWN’, it was indeed a privilege and honour for me to chair this wonderful event. There is immense amount of learning being the president or Secretary of a club but this learning experience for me has been a life changing one. I wholeheartedly thank our beloved DRR Rtr. PP. PHF. Subhadra Marimuthu for trusting me with such an important event. Team work plays a vital role to achieve success and the success of DAWN was undoubtedly because of the team work and support from Rotaract Club of Am Jain Shift II and Rotaract Club of Scions. I would be failing on my duty if I don’t thank the amazing rotaractors who supported me to deliver this event Rtr. IPP. Mahendran Jain (Co-Chairperson) and Rtr. Vasukumar (Secretary). As we step into the new Rotary year, I urge all rotaractors to show our strength by making a difference to serve humanity. Let the MADness begin!!!

DOT”S- GLEAM

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE:Dear Makers of Difference,It gives me extreme contentment to share my first message for the Rotary year 2016-17 through this magazine launched on the occasion of District Installation of RI District 3230.If there was one role I was hesitant to take up in my 6 years of Rotaract career it would be the role of an event chairman. But the jinx was broken this year or can I call it ‘I broke it myself ’. To make a successful event & set aside flaws it takes a great amount of planning and perfect execution. Taking up the role of DOTS Chairman was one fine decision I made this year which made me realise my truepotential. With the first phase ‘GLEAM’ already complete in the month of May ably assisted by my dear brother Rtr. Kishore, the secretary of the event & hosted by Rotaract Club of Ambattur, the team is again all set to deliver the second phase ‘INFUSE’ in the first week of August at Yelagiri. Mind blowing speakers, jaw dripping outbound activities and most of all get to know the true meaning of Fun.

Yours in Rotaract,Rtr. Vimal Kumar.Chairman – DOTS

After a steady stride of 2 sessionsthe team broke for lunch followed byRtr. PP. Subhadra.V. Marimuthu, DRR Elect, RID 3230who set her expectations for the Rotary year 16-17.Later We had Rtr. DOTS reminded me of my RYLA where you’ll not be knowing anyone at the beginning, but after being trained by professionals and lot of inputs obtained from them we finally have a new family.
