Chapter 9

Page 2: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

I have chosen not to include “ ” because it would become quite cumbersome

and distracting.

I believe it is valuable to note that this passage is almost entirely God speaking to Noah – not just random instructions.

Of course, all of Scripture is God speaking. Sometimes we forget.

Don’t get it twisted!!

Page 3: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them,

Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.**

Page 4: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

…The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth,

and on all the birds in the sky,* on every creature that moves

along the ground,* and on all the fish in the sea;*

they are given into

your hands.*

Page 5: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Everything that lives and moves* about will be food for you.

Just as I gave you the green plants,

I now give you everything.*

Page 6: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

But you must not eat meat that

has its lifeblood still in it.*

Page 7: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.Be fruitful. 2.Increase in number.3.Fill the earth.4.All of these.

What did God say to Noah and his sons?

Page 8: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.Raw meat2.Manna3.Everything

What did God give Noah to eat after the flood?

Page 9: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.They will fear and dread him.

2.They will finally be friends.3.They will treat him like a

god.

How will animals react to man after the flood?

Page 10: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

And for your lifeblood

I will surely demand an

accounting. I will demand an accounting

from every animal.

Page 11: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting

for the life of another human being.

Page 12: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Whoever sheds human blood,    by humans

shall their blood be shed;*

for in the image of God

    has God made mankind.

Page 13: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.Man2.Animals3.Both are correct

Who will be held accountable for the blood of a man?

Page 14: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.Because he is like an animal.

2.Because he is made in the image of God.

3.Both are correct

Why is man’s life important?

Page 15: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number;

multiply on the earth and increase upon it.

Page 16: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:

I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you*

Page 17: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

and with every living creature that was with you—the birds,* the livestock* and all the wild

animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.

Page 18: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by

the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood

to destroy the earth.*

Page 19: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you

and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:*

Page 20: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant

between me and the earth. Genesis 9: 13

Page 21: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the

clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all

living creatures of every kind.

Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.

Page 22: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and

remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures

of every kind on the earth.

Page 23: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

So God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me

and all life on the earth.

Page 24: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

1.When the clouds appear

2.When the rainbow appears

3.Both are correct.

When will God remember his covenant?

Page 25: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth.*

(Ham was the father of Canaan.) *

These were the 3 sons of Noah,* and from them came the people who were

scattered over the whole earth.*

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.

Page 29: Genesis Lesson 6 Chapter 9

After the flood Noah lived 350 years.

Noah lived a total of 950 years,* and then he died.
