SiliconeS Are the traditional sealants – highly elas-tic and tough. They are not easy to paint and tend to discolor around the edges, which limits their use for facades.

PolyurethaneS Are characterized by their strength, which makes them ideal adhesives. Due to their reactive isocyanate components, the processor must carefully observe user guidelines.

hybridS Are silane-crosslinking organic polymers that combine properties typical of both silicones and polyurethanes. They are highly versatile as adhesives and seal-ants and easy and safe to use.

From Silicone to StP-e technologyWACKER silicones marketed as ELASTOSIL® are long-established high-quality construction sealants.

We are now expanding this product area with a balanced range of hybrid-based adhesives and sealants, marketed as GENIOSIL®. What distinguishes these products from the rest is their crosslink-ing mechanism – the so-called STP-E technology. The novel crosslinkers be-hind this technology, e.g. alpha-silanes, provide the products with properties that surpass those of conventional hybrid systems:

– A broad range of elasticity and strength – from low-modulus sealants to high-strength adhesives

– Rapid curing alongside a sufficiently long pot life
