VIBE AND XXL MISSIONS

Hip hop and urban music is valued as well as being very popular through out the world. The main key features to vibe is to showcase up and coming people but to also stage those already shining. It also sets trends to the younger audience and within the magazine it contains all the brand new looks and ways of the artists.

XXL has a slightly different approach to attracting their audience. Its less macho and promiscuous. There main aim of the magazine is to attract more mature, educated and intelligent people to their magazine. It keeps up with the evolving culture of hip hop, urban and R&B.

AUDIENCE ANALYSIS

VIBE magazine widely consists of people above 21, this suggests that the magazine is not your typical hip hop magazine with informal language. Although it contains a lot of pictures and not so much writing the age from the data is more towards adults than the younger generation. Also the employment percentage implies that it is an educated audience. The most popular race is the African American, this may suggest that this race is more attracted to this type of genre that the magazine is advertising than others.

XXL magazine is also very similar to VIBE, this suggests that is because they are both similar within the context of the magazine. However in the XXL magazine its men that buy the magazine more than women, I think this is because it’s mainly aimed towards men as they’re front covers and generally male artists or groups.
