Genre is important to film producers as thisgives their film a category and it is alsouseful so they are able to attract their targetaudience by using codes and conventions.Without this the film may not be able reachthe target audience and if there is someonewho loves horror and the trailer or movieposter doesn’t state the genre then thismight not appeal to the audience.
