1. GENRE 2. Genre is different types of text. In music magazines there are different types of genre, e.g. Indie and Pop. I have chosen to do an Indie music magazine. GENRE 3. The models are serious but dont look unhappy. Gives the effect of mystery and wanting to know more about these characters. It gives off a cool vibe. A lot of male models are featured in black and white photos. MODELS/CHARACTERS 4. Males usually are wearing dark clothing like skinny jeans with a leather jacket or trench coat. Girls usually wear brighter clothing e.g. Light washed denim jeans and jackets and bright skirts. COSTUME 5. Make up on Indie models varies from picture to picture. Some make up can be very extravagant (mainly on females) and some can be very plain and natural (mostly on males) MAKE UP 6. In Indie music magazines props like instruments are widely used along with sun glasses. Also other unusual items like feathers, ladders and bull horns are used. PROPS 7. Indie music magazines suggest an edge of rebellion and look alternative. This adds to the conventions of trying to be unique. FONTS/THEMES 8. Locations for photo shoots can be in studios but also in urban environments and other unusual places. LOCATIONS 9. In Indie magazines the different articles include artist/band gossip, tours/gig, news, album releases and trends. ISSUES 10. Influenced by using music as a fashion accessory this Tribe are motivated by being ahead of the curve (and their rival Leading Edge Tribes) on all the latest trends. This makes Indie Scenesters unpredictable, as fashion in every sense of the word becomes recyclable in this Tribe. True Indie Scenesters arent obsessed with brands in the conventional sensewell maybe a few (including Converse, Rough Trade and Vans) but theyre fashion leaders rather than followers, wearing anything from plain dark jeans and a V-neck one day to bright neons the next. They confess to be out there and in your face to set trends and open doors to new ideas. They target a young audience, who desire to be unique and different, as they find who they are when growing up . Indie magazines allow young people to feel different and unique. Indie magazine represent unique men and women. They show glamorous models making the audience desire what they have. They focus on setting new trends and fashions based on new music releases and trends. They include models wearing unique and fashionable clothes and makeup that are of bold bright colours when featured with girls and darker natural looks with boys. The posing of the models is natural and doesnt look posed. Different props, mainly musical instruments are used such as guitars in the magazines.
