He has only focused on two characters and the audience can see that these two are important. The mise en scene reflects everyday life. As the location is a diner in America, the characters are dressed in everyday normal clothes such as jeans, t-shirts. So therefore they look like everybody else but when the audience starts to hear the dialogue between the two characters then they realize that they are criminals. The shots used between the two characters are vey simple and there are not many different shots that have been used. It tends to be close ups, and shot reverse shot. This is so that these two characters are the main focus in the shot.

In the opening scene of snatch there are a variety of shots used all for different effects. The close up of the characters is so that the audience can relate instantly with them and also they know who to focus more attention on as the film goes on. Guy Ritchie has kept the opening scene very simple and that is quite good, as then the audience do not get too confused. The mise en scene just lets the audience know with what is going on and the way that the characters are dressed i.e. as Jews and also when they wear suits the audience can see that they deal with business. All the effects and shots use mean that the audience can be impacted with it and relate on scene. It makes them feel more involved.

Links to our film- Deception

From American Psycho the sense of a familiar location. Due to the domestic setting can make it easier for the audience to engage with the film

As in The Talented Mr Ripley we have used the similar concept of how much identity plays a part in your life as it makes you who you are.

We used the similar camera angles as these films due to we used shot reverse and pan shot. As it makes an impact. Majority of these

films use classical music such as the piano or cello. Which can then reflect the essence of the film and that is what we aiming for in our production.

The lighting varies in each of these films, as some open with dark lighting and then go to brighter lighting or vice verse. We are going to try the dark lighting first and then the bright lighting due to in our production there is a flashback, so the incident happens first but then the main character goes back to the few hours before.
