Finding Fiction Books

• You need to know the Author’s last name first letter.

• You go to the shelf and check in that alphabetized section.

• If the book is not on the shelf, check the fiction book return cart.

• If the book is not on the shelf or the fiction book return cart, it is checked out and you need to think of another book you want.

Finding Non-fiction Books

• You can “browse” the non-fiction section for books in the category you’ve selected by finding the Dewey Decimal System number first.

• Then you go to the numerically arranged shelves and check for the number.

• If the non-fiction shelf is empty, you should also check the non-fiction book return cart.

• If the non-fiction book return cart doesn’t have the book either, then the books have been checked out and you need to get something else.
