Client Brief
NIMS in Trivandrum is among India’s most technologically advanced
and Kerala’s largest Superspecialist Cardiac hospital. As a result, it if
often in the limelight with famous celebrities and politicians getting
operated at NIMS. Mr Faizal Khan – MD of NIMS Medicity, wanted
to make it India’s first Green Cardiac Surgery Hospital and was
successful when the plant was commissioned in March 14.
Project
Being a superspecialist hospital, NIMS can’t afford a power cut for
even a minute. This not only makes the performance and safety of
the Solar Power System imperative, but also presents peculiar
problems during design as Gensol managed to get only a few hours
of shutdown for connecting the Solar System with that of the
Electricity Panel. With added emphasis of aesthetics and scope for
expansion, NIMS now plans to put additional solar power plants to
increase its green footprint.
