iii. Identification of Crime (including type of crime) prone spots;

i. Traffic control, Traffic regulation, diversion, road clearance etc.;
ii. Identification of accident prone areas;
iii. Facilitate fast track and easy movement of persons requiring greater
degree of safety and security;
iii. Law Enforcement including challenging defaulting riders/driver/vehicles.

i. Fast response in accident rescue and trauma relief;
ii. Security/ crime generated emergency;
iii. Cordon off and Clearing of area arising due to crime or road accident;
CHALLENGES

TECHNICAL SYSTEMS AND MECHANISM PUT IN PLACE TO MEET CHALLENGES
• GIS based Dial 100 system with State level Command and Control Centre;
• Fully equipped Call response and Distress Management System, voice logging facilities etc.
• 1000 First Response Vehicles mounted with GPS and Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) to provide live location and continuous communication.
• 2000 public place spread across 60 cites covered under CTV surveillance system with city wise and state wide monitoring systems, video walls,
• ANPR, RLVD, Face Recognition, head count cameras at select places
• Mobile surveillance vehicles in cities.

• System capable of Automatic Number Plate recognition (ANPR), Video Content Analytics, Face Recognition capability, Digital Geo-
fencing capability to generate alarm of movement or suspicious
activity during odd hours, auto logging and video archiving library
facility etc.
• The system is completely GIS based including Open Source Intelligence such as fetching the information from Facebook, Twitter
etc.
• Integration of CCTV Networked control rooms with Dial100 control room.
• Integration with State Crime record database.
• Location mapping of private CCTV installations.
APPLICATION OF GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY

• Preparation of Security layers in GIS;
• Geo-fencing of Police Station Jurisdiction to avoid conflicts and delays;
• Demarcation of village boundaries, Tahsil and Block boundaries;
• GIS layer of Mobile tower locations of various service providers
• Point of Interest (POI) mapping as per requirement of Policing esp. in rural
and semi urban areas with commonly known names such as Who’s who
residences / shops, Liquor shops, Schools, Hostels, Health centres, local
religious places, Panchayat buildings, local level govt offices, rural banks
village wells etc.

CAPACITY BUILDING EFFORTS
1. Regular trainings of Police Officers to improve Geo-
informatics literacy.
2. More than 3000 Cops were trained in GIS PoI
collection.
3. Deployment of Mobile App.

PROPOSED INITIATIVES
• Integration of high resolution satellite images as
background to the GIS map layers in Dial 100 and their
periodical update.
• 3D mapping of major cities including building floor plan
mapping of security sensitive buildings such as Mahakal
Temple, Malls, Educational Institutions, Secretariat, Vidhan
Sabha etc.
