Marie then tested Conkie again, after being teed up by Smart, but thehat-trick heroes effort was tipped round the post by Conkie. But as theclock ticked down it looked as though Bootle were going to collect allthree points and extend their winning run to four games - but in analready frantic and dramatic game, there was one final twist to comein the ninety first minute. Ryan Stewart's free kick was initially headedoff the line by Smart, but the ball fell perfectly to Dilan Lomas whosefirst time volley went through a crowd of bodies and into the the backof the Bootle net to rescue his side a point.Bucks Bow out of Vase 03/10/15Bootle bowed out the FA Vase on Saturday after suffering adisappointing two one defeat away at Dronfield Town. The Bucks travelled to Derbyshire looking to continue their impressiveform; however, despite a bright start they produced a disappointingdisplay on an afternoon Joe Doran and his side will want to forget.Despite the disappointing display Bootle dominated the openingstages of the game, penning their hosts back in their own half for thelarge parts, but they ultimately failed to capitalise on their dominance. On sixty seven minutes the hosts did break the deadlock. MichaelAkhave - Hazan's corner found the unmarked Joe Butler who bundledthe ball home from inside the six-yard box. And with nine minutesremaining, things got worse for the Bucks as the hosts doubled theirlead. Daniel Hoyland pounced on a lose ball on the edge of the Bootlebox before firing into the bottom corner of Moran's net. However, with the clock approaching ninety minutes, the Bucks handedthemselves a life line. Dave Moran's released Tom Peterson with asuperbly weighted pass that any outfield player would have beenproud of. Peterson then coolly composed himself before finishing intothe bottom corner of the net. Town defence held firm to end anydreams the Bucks had of visiting Wembley come May.Bears Put Three Past Bucks 06/10/15Bootle fell to their second defeat in four days, with a 3-0 defeat awayCongleton Town. The Bucks fell behind through Scott McGowan's strike three minutesbefore the half time interval. Before Brian Matthews converted fromthe penalty spot on seventy two minutes, to put the hosts in thedriving seat. And with eleven minutes reaming, the Bears wrappedthe game up thanks to Decal Fletcher's goal.

Hello and welcome to you all.

Welcome to all our supporters and the supporters and playersof Squires Gate.

As it stands tonight we sit 7th in the league but I'd rather notfocus on the league position at this moment as, after a spellof good form we now have lost 2 on the spin and that's notgood enough.

We have lost our way the last couple of games and today wemust get back to basics. The results so far are showing thatthis season the majority of clubs can beat each other.

We know we have potential here but we also know there is alot to learn for our young side.

We want to get back to winning ways today and with twohome games in succession (today and also Tuesday versusRuncorn Town) we have the perfect chance to get back ontrack.

I thank you for your continued support.

Joe

Bucks Suffer Late Heartbreak 26/09/15Sucker-punched in the first minute of injury time. Saturday's game felt like adefeat for Bootle, having lead and battled for so long, the Bucks looked destinedto collect all three points, but Dilan Lomas' injury time strike earned 1874Northwich a point in a six goal thriller at the Barton Stadium. In a frantic gamewhich saw Bootle pegged back three times by the hosts, after the returningDominic Marie netted a more than impressive first half hat-trick for the Bucks.Bootle came into the game looking to extend their winning run to four games, and they started the brighter of the two sides here, and went close to openingthe scoring when Joe Peacock's long ball was headed into the path of Billy Smartby Jamie Hay, but Smart's effort was blocked by Daniel Thomas. 1874 went closethemselves to taking the lead; but Matthew Ward fired over from inside theBootle box after connecting with Ryan Jackson's cross. Bootle then created twofurther chances in a bid to break the deadlock. First Lomas' header back towardshis own goal was pounced on by Haligan, but his right footed poke bouncedover the bar. Before Smart saw his curling effort comfortably gathered by MattConkie in the 1874 goal. However on twenty seven minutes, Bootle broke thedeadlock. Michel Ordish pounced on a lose pass, before finding Marie whoadvanced into the 1874 box before curling the ball into the far corner ofConkie's net. Marie's goal was the start of a frantic eleven minutes which saw afurther four goals scored. 1874 responded well to going a goal down, and wentclose to equalising when Paul Conner's cross found Stuart Wellstrad inside theBootle box - but the forwards over-head kick rattled of the cross bar. But aminute later, and the hosts were level. Ryan Jackson pounced on a lose ball onthe edge of the Bootle box before letting fly with a left-footed strike whichfound the far corner of Richie Cowederoy's net. Two minutes later however, andBootle were back in-front. Marie collected Smart's pass, before cutting inside andunleashing a strike from twenty-five yards out which flew into the net. But theBucks lead was to only last four minutes as once again 1874 responded. MattWoolley released Jackson who was brought down by Liam Dodd inside theBucks box, leaving the referee little option but to point to the penalty spot.Stuart Wellstead stepped up and sent Cowderoy the wrong way to bring his sidelevel. There was more drama before the first half was out, as Bootle retook thelead for the third time in the half. Ordish's corner found its way to Haligan at theback post, who was brought down by Lomas - the foul left the referee littleoption but to point to the penalty spot. There was no question who was goingto take the penalty, as Marie calmly stepped up and placed his effort to completehis hat-trick. As entertaining as the first half was the second half was much morescrappier affair, with the game often turning into more of a battle. Bootlethough, went close to adding to their lead when Marie's cross found the head ofDodd, but the defenders header went over. Joel Powell then headed over afterconnecting with Ordish's free kick. 1874, also had chances, the best of whichfalling to goal scorer Wellstead. Stewart's long ball released Wellstead, but theforwards low drive went wide of the far post.

The original Bootle F.C. were formed in 1880 andplayed at Hawthorne Road. They were in factEverton FC’s biggest rivals.

The Bucks where the first everwinners of the Liverpool Senior Cup, had in theirranks the first black footballer in Andrew Watsonand regularly had bigger crowds than theirneighbours.

In 1889–90 Bootle became founder members of theFootball Alliance, narrowly missing out on thefootball league the previous season. That seasonwas the most successful as we finished leaguerunners-up, reached the

quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where we lost toBlackburn Rovers (0-7).

When the Alliance merged with the FootballLeague in 1892, Bootle became foundermembers of the new Second Division. However, despite a respectable 8th place finalposition, the club dropped out after oneseason due to financial difficulties and the attraction of Evertonplaying in the First Division. They were replaced by newneighbours, Liverpool.

Football returned to the town when a new club was formed withthe help of Bootle Council. The club initially played in the LiverpoolLeagues until 1948 when the club were elected to the Lancashire

Combination 2, which was won at thefirst attempt. The club was granted anew ground on Maguire Avenue (nowknown as Bootle Stadium). However,Bootle struggled in the top-flight andafter several tough seasons withdrewand folded during the 1953–54campaign.

Without a doubt the headline performance of the weekend was provided by WestDidsbury & Chorlton, who recorded the highest ever win by a NWCFL club in Leaguehistory when they beat Dinnington Town 15-1 in the FA Vase Second QualifyingRound.West were 8-1 up at half time against their opponents from the Central MidlandsLeague North Division, and in the end nine different players got on the scoresheet, withtwo own goals thrown in for good measure.Well done to West, for entering the history books!

There's something about cup ties that bring out the best in Congleton Town thisseason, with Saturday's 4-3 FA Vase win at Emley the latest in a series of fine cup resultsin the past few weeks. The Bears were 3-1 down with 15 minutes to go, but two goals from Declan Fletcherand the second of the game for Scott McGowan clinched a fine comeback. The duo have an impressive goalscoring record in cup competitions this season withFletcher on eight and McGowan seven - Congleton's next opponents should take note.

For the second round in a row, Rochdale Town scored six goals in an FA Vase tie, withSaturday's 6-2 win over St Helens Town following on from their amazing 6-5 win overParkgate in the last round, a game in which they were four goals down in the first half.On that occasion Jonny Thompson and Kristian Evans were both on target twice forTown, and Thompson continued his goalscoring love affair with the Vase on Saturdaywhen he grabbed another double and this time was joined by Scott Alfrey who alsoscored twice.Town's league form has been inconsistent but they certainly come alive in the Vase.

Once again, Atherton Colls enjoyed a good Friday evening crowd at Alder House, witha season's best attendance of 429 turning up for the Flat Cap derby against AthertonLR.The attendance follows ni the footsteps of other good attendances on Friday eveningslast season, and as the official Atherton Colls Twitter feed reported -

Runcorn Linnets moved to the top of the Premier Division table for the first time thisseason with a 3-0 win at Ashton Athletic.Always among the promotion favourites in recent seasons, and runners-up in the pasttwo seasons, Linnets made a slower start than expected this season, but now sit on topof the pile once more, and will again be one of the teams to beat in the promotionchase this season.

In 1953, the current club was formedoriginally as Langton and played in thelocal leagues. After a very successfulspell in the Liverpool CountyCombination (which was won onnumerous occasions) the club revertedback to it’s It’s better known identity ofBootle FC in 1973.

A year later the Bucks joined the Lancashire Combination, whichwas won in 1976 and 1977. Bootle then joined the SecondDivision of the Cheshire County League, which was won in ourfirst season, and we were promoted to the First Division.

In 1982 the Cheshire County League was one of the leagues thatmerged to form the North West Counties League, which Bootleduly joined, becoming a founder member of the First Division. Theclub spent most of their time in the First Division until 2000 whenwe unfortunately dropped into the Second Division. However, despite finishing 6th in 2002, the club, having to move away from

Bucks Park on Copy Lane, dropped into theLiverpool County Combination. After severalseasons of work behind the scenes and survivalon the pitch the Bucks finally acquired a newhome. In 2006 the club, with a new venue on adeveloping Vesty Road, the club were elected backinto Division 2 of the North West Counties League.

In 2009 Bootle won promotion to the NWCL Premier Division andalso won the Championship under the guidance of Chris O’Brien. In 2009/10, our first season back in the NWCFL Premier DivisionBootle finished a NWCFL highest placingof 3rd. In 2010/11 finished 6th place. They equalled the 3rd place again in 2012this time with Neil Prince at the helm.Prince also lifted the Senior Cup as Bootlemanager - the first to do so in 100 years.

After an indifferent second season Princewas replaced by Joseph Doran. Doran has gone about to replenishthe squad with exciting local young players and all at the club arehoping these lads fulfil their potential.

Bootle remain unbeaten in the league after abrilliant performance against Warrington, theteam were unlucky not to take all three points from thegame after a couple of chances were saved or wentnarrowly wide but a point was a good result in this end toend game.Warrington were the first to strike half way through thefirst half when a long ball caught out the defence and theirfast striker was in behind, Danni in goal came out as quickas she could but the striker calmly played it into the backof the net. Bootle didn't let their heads drop and for therest of the half were the better team.Emily had a great shot brilliantly saved by the Warringtonkeeper but the keeper could not keep out Alice's effort justbefore the half time whistle, Siobhan Cliff played a lobbedball into the path of Alice who took it down and smashedit into the bottom of the crossbar and over the line. The game went into the break at 1-1.The second half was really end to end but it was Bootlewho had the better opportunities to clinch the win, however Warrington stood firm and so did the Bootledefence who in the last 10 minutes had a lot of pressurebut kept the game at 1-1.A point was probably a fair result for both teams butBootle will feel they could have got the win after thenumber of good chances that fell their way.Player of the match went to captain Tessa Littler whocontrolled the midfield and never stopped running.
