A extremely close correlation between club development and membership figures is evident.

Valid in both aspects – increasing and loosing – are clubs and members at the same time.

Since 2004 there has been a decline in membership and the potential for growth has not been fully realized.

The statistics are based on 80% of the researched clubs and members.

Analysis and Conclusion Eastern Europe

LCI succeeded in reaching above average growth in Eastern Europe. From 2000 to 2003, when LCI suffered big losses on a global level, 20% growth was achieved in Eastern Europe.

Russia experienced a negative trend, losing clubs and members resulting in a 50% loss.

The number of women Lion is on target at 27% thus meeting the objective of “Women in Lions” program.

Basic information and working materials.

Leadership training on all District-Levels.

Assistance by experienced Certified Guiding Lions to meet the needs and the challenges of Eastern European Lions. These Lions will work directly with local Lions so Lions learn through participation. (learn by doing)

Support realistic and timely objectives.

Provide monthly overviews to ensure appropriate and successful developments. (reporting – system).
