From September 2012, the Geography curriculum at Abbeyfield School, will adopt the IMYC structure. Teaching and learning in the subject will:
• Follow the IMYC agreed topics and Big Ideas each term, in order to provide students with clear links between the subject and other areas of the school
curriculum in order to give learning meaning.
• Take into account the ‘Abbeyfield Learner’ wordle in lesson planning to ensure that geography students develop into well-rounded learners.
• Follow the ‘Abbeyfield Learning Wheel’ model to give learning in geography lessons structure and meaning as well as ensuring that teaching and
learning provides the opportunity for all students to make outstanding progress.
