TYPES OF GEOGRAPHYUnderstand differences between physical,
human and environmental geography.Finding places on the map.
WHAT IS PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY?
Is the study of the earth’s natural features.
It is about land and sea and the atmosphere around us.
THE ATHMOSPHEREIs the air around the Earth. Changes in temperature, rainfall,
and pressure give us our weather and climate.
LANDFORMS
Are natural features formed by rivers, the sea, ice, and volcanoes. They are changing often as they are worn
away in some places and built up in others.
HAZARDSAre changes in physical geography which happen suddenly,
such as: storms, floods, drought, eruptions, earthquakes.
EARTH SURFACEIs made from all kind of rocks. Where these rocks break
up into small pieces, they form soil. Plants grow in this soil and cover most of the earth’s land surface.
ECOSYSTEMA community of plants and animals whose lives are closely linked to each other and to the climate and soil
of the area in which they grow.
