Preliminary AnalysisThe Update frequency is mostly not very high (annually)The Gazatteer Database always has to be complete in respectof the area covered by the projectOrthography can be catched up by the Application (Sounds like, Wildcards, …)Variant names are rarely used at the moment. Local, regional or nationwide applications do not need them. Applicationswith international focus use duplicated entries for different languages / or only in the originating language. But: Increasing need is expected (cross-boarder-acitivities, globalisation)Real commercial applications (e.g. vodafone) require a veryhigh service-level (performance, reliability, service-hours)
