You could fill a political blog with things I dont know about politics. Ive never claimed to be anexpert even though Ive been known to pass judgement especially since the dawn of the coalitionand the first Conservative government of my adult life. The majority of people with a firmunderstanding of how were governed usually work in a political setting and thrive on theirconstituents lack of understanding as they lie, bribe and cheat their way into positions of power. This is not an insult toMr and MrsJoe Public. A system of rule that is as inherently flawed as ourown defies logic and one can only pretend to perceive its inner workings and I fear that this iseven the case with those employed to administer it.

So as we dont really understand, what have we got to go on? Most of us can, and will, judge a

person on their appearance and we apparently make up our minds about a person within secondsof laying our tired, overworked and overtaxed eyes on them. If a person is a half reptile, halfcyborg villain from a dystopian future, where children are inoculated against freethinking at birth, then you will probably figure most of that out at face value. Case in point here is our Chancellor ofthe Exchequer, George Osborne.

Ill give you an example. Im sat at home today as my son has a stomach bug, which I may or maynot use as a cynically charged metaphor for the allergic reaction to bullshit suffered by the mostinnocent of all of us. For the last hour hes been asleep on the couch as I watched the BBCscoverage ofThe Budget 2013. I was struggling to keep up with the back and forth, playgroundnature of the childish insults and to the layman it resembled nothing more than a room full ofilliterate people doing there level best grunt and groan at each other like a few million years of

evolution had never happened. During all the shouting my son awoke and immediately asked mewhat I was watching. I couldnt even begin to explain. However, he took one look at Osborne andasked Dada, is he the baddie?

It would seem my three-year-old has a better understanding than his father.

Its always a cringe worthy moment when politicians try and make themselves more relevant andrelatable especially to younger people. The masses are pre-programmed to detest the overprivileged who, based solely on their location of education and inherent un-coolness, werehanded a path into the corridors of power. It comes as no surprise that the wildly ill advised movefrom Mr Osborne to join Twitter on the day of the Budget was met with a deficit sized backlashfrom the social networking community.

It doesnt matter what this tweet says. He could have declared that he was making alcohol freeand taxes could be paid with hangovers but the public wouldnt have cared. Theyve jumped onthis opportunity to let him, and his party know, that no amount of clever speech writing is goingto distract us from the awful truths.

Some of the responses tried to call him on his professional failings.

@George_Osborne Your punctuation is worse than your maths.

Some of them labelled him a villain.

@George_Osborne Hello, what was your worst encounter ever with Spider-Man?

Others were just flat out hilarious.

@George_Osborne You are such a plum.

This man keeps pulling out all the stops to prove how out of touch he, and his party, are with acountry that relished the chance to tell the man that keeps stealing our money to keep wealthypeople rich to fuck off at the earliest opportunity. Mr Osbornes foray into the world of socialmedia has done nothing except invite the truth from a nation that teeters on the brink of social andeconomic collapse. This is a man so utterly arrogant he turned up to present the medals at aParalympics event on the same week he cut funding to disability services and felt a sense ofinjustice when booed by a stadiums worth of voters. They probably didnt know who he was orwhat he had done but just like children at a pantomime they knew the villain as soon as they sawhim. So remember, next time youre on Twitter, hes probably behind you.
