George Lucas was raised on a ranch in Modesto, California. His father owned a shop selling desks and had three brothers. During his teens studied at Downey High School and was a fan of auto racing, including planned to become a professional racing driver. But he suffered a terrible accident with his car shortly after graduating from high school, he was hospitalized for several days and nearly died. This accident definitely changed his view of life.
