GeoSuite II

Project objective was to develop a standard software model for Geotechnics, linked up to a Suite of geotechnical programs for building and construction

Participating companies/institutes were:• NGI • the Road Administration• Multiconsult• Geovita• NTNU • UiO • SINTEF• AGGEF • Vianova Systems

Page 18: Geosuite i og_ii_sw

GeoSuite IIResults achieved:

A Suite of Nordic calculation programs to calculate strength, settlement and stability for building terrain, to obtain lower cost and better quality/security.

A program for presentation and management within Geotechnics, to show and prove layers of various geological materials.

A well defined standard software model for Geotechnics, to enable all these programs to communicate and be understood by the users.

GeoSuite IIGeoSuite became a commercial success with 49 customers in

Norway and Sweden, and about 300 users and 600 commercial licences.

GeoSuite is used by the Public Roads Administrations in both Norway and Sweden, as well as among some local communities and all leading engineering consultants in both countries.

GeoSuite is part of educational program for geotechnics at NTNU and Chalmers University.

GeoSuite annual users’ meetings are organised in both countries with approx 40-60 participants.
