Senior Operations ManagerIn charge of leading the human and technological resources of the company towards the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Among my responsibilities I was in charge of managing cross functional teams including purchasing, inventory management and information technologies while being directly responsible for sourcing new products, services, contractors, capital and non-capital equipment.

Major Achievements with Liquis

Sourced direct contracts with food and beverage producers as well as pharmaceutical laboratories to purchase direct, achieving savings of 7% of the overall 2013 purchasing budget for a total of $11.4 million US dollars.

Implemented inventory management and control procedures on all sites, driving the accuracy to a documented effectiveness of 99% (corroborated and documented by De Luna & Associates external auditors) from previous 72% registered the year before the implementation of our project thus saving Grupo Liquis $1.2 million US dollars on over purchasing, spoilage, slippage and theft.

Created and implemented an intelligent purchasing module on the MRP system that considers blocks of historical sales, seasonality, lead time, multi-site inventory as well as weekly and daily sales average to provide accurate and timely information in which to plan inventory purchasing.

Developed comprehensive business plans and market strategies that ultimately defined the strategy for the expansion efforts of the chain.

Collaborated actively on the creation of the Liquis Plus business model that became the flagship concept of the group.

Creation and follow up of company-wide purchasing, leasing, confidentiality, construction and remodeling contracts under Mexican laws and regulations.

Coordinated the set up and start up of ten new sites and one distribution center including the design and management of multi-disciplinary teams with the ultimate goal of opening and operating all of them right on schedule.

During the eight years I worked for this company I held the positions of Site Manager; Mexico’s Pacific Business Development Manager and ultimately Western Mexico’s Regional Operations Manager (detailed responsibilities of each position available upon request).

Major Achievements with SDI

Successfully managed a crew of +50 people working inside SDI’s clients Honeywell Turbo Technologies and Thomson Display Devices in Mexicali, Mexico.

In 2007 I negotiated and achieved the contract renewal with client Honeywell Turbo Technologies accomplishing a new term of 3 additional years.

Negotiated the purchase of obsolete inventory in early 2007 worth $1.6 million US dollars accumulated over 14 years of operation of SDI with Honeywell group to other Garrett subsidiaries were equipment was transferred.

Start up of new client Cooper Industries in Mexicali as scheduled. Effectively communicated with Cooper Industries officials communicating immediate achievements

right after the SDI implementation on its Mexicali operation in terms of material organization, inventory fill rate and savings.

Achieved consistent inventory accuracy goals year after year with all SDI clients in my area of influence of at least 98% (corroborated and documented by Deloitte and KPMG external audits).

Helped assisting other SDI start-ups and troubled sites both in the United States and Mexico by personally audit and trained managers on-site.

Lead the negotiations in Mexico to obtain the Kellogg’s Queretaro account that in time would lead to a global (US, Canada and Mexico) contract sign up for 6 years which is now SDI´s major account.

Coordinated the transition of tools and machinery in early 2009 from the Autolite Spark Plugs plant in Fostoria, Ohio to the new Mexicali Mexico plant of Allied Signal, including the planning, timing, budgeting and definition of the different project stages.

Coordinated the operation of engineering improvements on actual price savings or yield of tooling for complex CNC operations, demonstrating engineering department of our clients through Six Sigma DMAIC methodology the benefits of new materials, set ups or new products all of which provided a documented average saving of $650k yearly.

Review and negotiation of contract obligations at contract’s end of term with Thomson Display Devices that lead to an agreement were all $1.8 million US dollar worth of MRO and equipment inventory were sold to the client with no carry over responsibility to SDI.
