Get Healthy

Be happy

What if there was one thing that addressed ALL of the following?FatigueHeart DiseaseChronic PainPMSHeadacheAllergiesFrequent ColdsDigestive Problems…and much more

Actually there is

But first, it is important to understand where some of these health problems come from

The Eskimos in Northern Canada experienced a sudden decline in health within a single generation; and this gives us a clue.

Eskimos changed from a traditional diet to a Western

diet:

• The incidence of cardiovascular disease quadrupled in men over 40

• Women developed breast cancer—unheard of when they ate their traditional diet

• Adolescents began to get acne

Polynesians

• Polynesians living in Pukapuka have no contact with the West

• Those lining in Raratonga have some contact with the West

• Those living in New Zealand have completely adopted the Western diet

Westernization = Chronic Disease

The Diet we Take for Granted Causes Health Problems

The average American eats 180 pounds of refined sugar each year. Also, Americans get fully 50% of their calories from refined carbohydrates. Eating refined (white) sugar and flour causes the body to produce excess insulin. It creates a condition known as “insulin resistance”

Excess insulin causes health problems:

• Increased pain and inflammation

• Tendency to develop diabetes

• Metabolic syndrome (aka Syndrome X)

• Obesity • Heart disease

• High blood pressure

• Fatigue• Endocrine

problems (including ovarian cysts and PMS

The Prevalence Of Insulin Resistance In Common Metabolic

Disorders 84% - Type 2 diabetes 54% - high cholesterol 84% - high triglycerides 88% - decreased (HDL) 63% - hyperuricemia (uric acid: associated with

gout) 58% - high blood pressure

Fats and Oils

Trans fats and the lack of omega-3 fatty acids in the diet causes health problems:

• Pain and inflammation• PMS and other endocrine problems• Heart disease and cancer• Skin problems

Chemical Additives

The average American consumes 10 pounds of chemical additives per year (this does not include pesticides, these are additives purposely added to the food). Chemical exposure may possibly be the cause of ADD, PMS, allergies, fatigue and even cancer.

Nutrient Depletion

Because of our highly refined diet, depletion of nutrients from the soil and a high amount of chemical exposure, we tend to be deficient in a number of nutrients.

Need Nutrients?• Vitamin B6 deficiency can cause you to

react to MSG (Chinese restaurant syndrome).• Deficiency of B12 can cause memory

problems and even dementia in older people--sometimes symptoms are so severe that it is mistaken for Alzeheimer's disease.

• Zinc deficiency can cause immune system problems, sugar cravings or skin problems.

• Magnesium deficiency can cause muscle spasms or heart arrythmias

Need Nutrients?• Essential fatty acid deficiency can cause skin

problems, muscle fatigue or tension headaches. • Vitamin B complex deficiencies can cause

fatigue or depression.• Folic acid deficiency can cause depression,

anemia and a low white cell count.• Anemias that don't respond to iron

supplementation may indicate a need of folic acid, B12, vitamin A, protein, copper or HCl

• Deficiencies in magnesium, calcium or essential fatty acids can be a source of menstrual cramps.

• Adequate selenium is necessary to effectively fight a viral infection.

Need Nutrients?• Hay fever sufferers with itchy eyes are

frequently deficient in vitamin A.• Molybdenum deficiency may cause you

to be sensitive to smoke and perfume.• Deficiencies of folic acid or B12 can be

a source of infertility.• Vitamin A deficiency can cause vision,

immune system or skin problems.• People with many allergies are

commonly deficient in trace minerals.

Improve Your Results--Supplement

It stands to reason that if you have not been getting enough nutrients in your diet that you should supplement.

• Multiple vitamin: Even the Journal of the American Medical Association recommends taking a multiple vitamin.

• Essential fatty acids: Most Americans are deficient in essential fatty acids. Taking them can improve the endocrine system, reduce inflammation, improve mental function and prevent a number of diseases.

You Wouldn’t Flush Money Down the Toilet?

The difference in quality between different brands of supplements is often considerable. Some inexpensive supplements are so useless that you would do your body just as much good if you flushed them down the toilet.

Quality Matters

Biotics Research makes its own supplements (you would be surprised at how many companies do not) and it has the most rigorous quality control standards in the industry.
