MUSICAL 2019 Summer 2019 Performing in the Underground Studio

We are in the process of securing the title of a musical for the summer term in 2019 and to help us in this decision, we need to know the makeup of the group (gender, diversity, skills and ages), which is why we can’t announce the title until October Half Term. Do not fear! This musical promises to build on recent studio musicals; Fame Jr., Café Crescendo, Honk Jr. and many more.

What Happens next? After reading through this document, as well as the ‘Need To Know’ document, simply complete the form and send it to our Youth Theatre Manager - Ashley Elbourne, as soon as you're ready. If we offer you a place, your first session will be a ‘taster’- if after that session you are interested in joining, you should pay the term’s fees at the Box Office or by ringing 01604 624811 before the next session. After the session, if you decide not to take up the place, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer someone else the opportunity.

Good News…

Your place is automatically renewed each term unless you tell us you are leaving. If you do leave, please give us notice, so we can offer your space to someone from the waiting list.

Bursary

We strongly believe that personal financial situations shouldn’t be a barrier to accessing opportunities we provide. We work tirelessly to fundraise for our excellent bursary schemes. Therefore, if you require a little assistance, we can help!

If you wish to apply for a bursary, please wait until we have offered you a place in the Young Company and then speak to our Youth Theatre Manager, Ashley Elbourne, to find out more information.

Frequently Asked Questions How much is Young Company? If I miss a rehearsal will I lose my part?

Young Company: Technical & Prepare is £35 per term. Young Company: Connect, Create & Devise

and R&D: Dance is £70 per term. Young Company: Musicals is £75 per term

Not necessarily, it all depends upon each individual situation. That’s why completing the Commitment Agreements is so

important. Be sure to complete them as accurately as possible

If I leave half way through a term, can I have a refund? Can I pay my fees online? The membership fee covers all aspects of the Young Company and

is not a week-by-week fee. So unfortunately, we can’t offer a refund.

Unfortunately, we can’t offer the opportunity to pay online. Don’t worry though - the Box Office are a very friendly

bunch!

I can’t attend a couple of the rehearsals, what should I do? How long will I be on a waiting list?

As long as we know in advance it’s okay. Obviously we can’t predict illness but the more notice you can give the better.

Simply email the Youth Theatre Manager.

The waiting lists can vary from group to group and it is difficult to give an accurate estimate as to how long you may

be waiting. As soon as a space is free we will be in touch.

I'm doing my exams, can I still join but miss a few rehearsals? I haven’t got my Director’s email address, who do I contact?

Young Company: Devise is perfect for those taking exams as there is less commitments out of the regular sessions in the summer

term, and if you miss one every now and again it won’t cause huge problems!

Don’t worry, all communication is through our Youth Theatre Manager, he will be able to liaise with your Director for you.

Can I be in more than one group? Can I change groups midway through the term?

Yes, although we encourage you to seriously consider the amount of commitment you can give so you don’t feel like you disappoint a

group if you need to leave later in the year. If you’d like to apply for more than one group then let us know.

It all depends on the number of participants, as well as what they are working on in the group you wish to transfer to. Have a chat with our Youth Theatre Manager if you are

considering it and they can look at options with you.
