Driving Value with an Engaged Channel

We all know that the marketplace and buyer behaviour has been changing over the years. But as IT vendors have we realised that the channel that supports it has also evolved? Have we as IT vendors adapted our thinking and our output to our channel? New technology such as Cloud, Mobility, IoT etc… enables businesses to do more than ever before. It equally offers new opportunities for the channel too. However, to fully reap the reward the channel is starting to need to sharpen it’s value proposition. What better starting point than to build this around their customer and the customer needs that it’s built its expertise and reputation on. More vendors are in the fray too, a good thing offering the channel and the customer choice. As the channel builds out it’s own value-net of strategic alliances/partnerships that envelope the partner’s niche expertise it needs to tell a story.Some things never change: lack of marketing budget and access to marketing skillset. A blend of old school and modern day marketing techniques are needed to tell the story.We’ve designed a workshop to help our channel partners take a step back, and guided by marketing professionals think about their business, their customers, their vendors AND consider how to start to build their value proposition to take advantage of the “new” business opportunity ahead. Yes, we’ll update on our product/service portfolio, our partner program benefits and infrastructure BUT importantly we’ll provide the marketing know-how to help the partner understand how to market “themselves” better – a better defined partner value proposition, an improved digital profile, increased visibility in the market will aid demand gen & sales. We trust with Intermedia, an IT vendor who’s ahead of the game providing the “new era” of channel support, in their value-net and in their deals.
