Coastline Student About Coastline Coastline Community College is located in Southern California (near Disneyland) and is a fully-accredited member of the California Community College System. There are 112 California Community Colleges, but Coastline is unique in that it does not have just one centralized campus. Instead, it has three mini-campus- es in the cities of Garden Grove, Newport Beach, and Westminster. The college also has an administration building (housing the President’s Office, Admissions Office, Bookstore and more) in Fountain Valley, Cali- fornia. International students of Coastline Community College may also choose to transfer to one of the two larger campuses in the district: Orange Coast College or Golden West College. Both offer the atmosphere and services of a traditional college campus. However, if they continue at Coastline Community College, they can take advantage of the one on one attention from staff and faculty. These campus options allow students to find their perfect campus fit. Coastline offers Associate (A.A./A.S.) degrees, and all of the necessary courses for students wishing to transfer on to a four-year college or university. Did you know . . . As a student in the EBUS program, you will:• Acquire college-level skills appropriate for transfer to U.S. colleges and universities, including advanced English-

language skills. These skills will prepare students for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.• Receive intense classroom and computer-assisted instruction with individual attention and small class sizes.• Learn how to apply to U.S. colleges and about the selection process, refine your study skills and test-taking

strategies, and plan ways to become a successful U.S. college student.• Establish your individual learning plan with a college Academic Counselor from Coastline Community College

and attend college guidance workshops.• Improve your English reading, grammar, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking skills.• Be introduced to extracurricular activities as practiced in the United States, such as participating in service

projects and student clubs.• Interact with students from around the world.• Be eligible for a U.S. “Summer Abroad” program.• Learn about U.S. culture, customs, colleges, and more!

How to get started in the EBUS program:1. Apply for admission to the EBUS program.

2. Review the EBUS Handbook and sign the Student Expectations Contract.

Upon conditional acceptance, students will:

• Take English-language assessments administered by Coastline Community College personnel.

• Develop an individual learning plan with a college counselor.

• Enroll in English-language development courses and transfer-level college courses (general college courses) according to eligibility based on English placement tests and counselor recommendations.
