Before you configure the Pure360 Integration

You need to consider at which level in your Magento environment you wish to set up Integration. If you only run one site or store this is not an issue. However, should you be running multiple stores and/or sites, you may wish to consider whether you need or want to send different data to PureResponse based on the differences in the stores.

For example, you might be running a German store, a subsidiary of your main outlet, and for this particular Store, you may not want to take the address data across to the PureResponse system, because of German data privacy laws.

Be aware therefore, that when you are configuring your access to the PureResponse system, you may need or want to make multiple amendments. The Magento integration stores your details once entered at each level of the site and these work on a hierarchical basis, so a Website has a lower precedence than a Store, and both of these are subsidiary to the Global settings.

When configuring the Integration, start by configuring the Global level, then the Website level if required, and finally, the Store level, if that is being used.

The enhanced flexibility of this method means that you can handle marketplaces differently, and send different datasets to the PureResponse system. It also provides the added advantage that this can be switched off and on at will, enabling you to experiment with the overall Integration, and select the version that best suits your Business model. This is also true and helpful if there is a decision taken on a change to how the business operates.

Once your Magento data is in the PureResponse system, you can then create Emails, Campaigns and Automations to enable you to engage your customer base, grow their loyalty and interact with them in a more focused manner.

Initial Configuration

Activating the Integration

When you initially log in to the Administration screen within Magento, you should click on System -> Configuration. The screen below appears:

Click on the API Config tab in the Left column. The initial configuration page for the PureResponse system Integration is now shown.

As you can see this is currently set to Disabled. You need to set this to Enabled to proceed further.

Note: As is standard within Magento, you need to click the Save Config button in the top right of your screen to make any changes permanent. You must do this after every change or you may find you experience unexpected results.

Once this is set to Enabled, the following screen appears:

Enter the Username and Password that you have been provided for each of your two profiles. If you are only using the Marketing function or the Transactional function then you should enter that in the appropriate box. Beneath each entry you should click the Validate Credentials buttons. Should any credentials prove to be inaccurate the following screen is displayed.

As you can see from this screenshot below, the credentials were validated successfully.

Setting this to Enable brings up the following screen:

Give your List a Name. If you wish to track the Value of Sales from email campaigns, then tick the Success Page Tracking checkbox and give the Tracking Token box a meaningful value. If you want or need Double Opt-in for your newsletters (where an email is sent with a confirmation link to ensure that the subscriber requested this), then you should tick the checkbox provided. Now select the fields you are interested in using for Filtering and Segmentation purposes in the PureResponse system. The screenshot below gives an example of fields selected.

Setting up Abandoned Cart Functionality

Click the Save Config button. The screen changes to show the following:

Enable anywhere between 1 and 3 triggers and Click Save Config after each one you change. The options available are discussed below this screenshot.

Set a numeric value in the Trigger After field and in the Trigger After drop-down box, select from Days, Minutes or Hours. Then for each trigger, choose an action from the Trigger Action drop-down box; one of Create Event, Reminder Email, or Clear Cart (Create Event should be used if you wish to use our Trigger to start the Abandoned Cart process from another installed module). If you selected Reminder Email, choose from any email template that you have created inside your Magento system, for both Customer and Guest emails. A sample configuration is shown below.

Here we elect to send an email after 24 hours, another after 7 days, and if the customer still hasn’t actioned this email after 14 days, we clear the cart.

Cron Manager

Once the functionality is enabled, the Cron Manager is available for use. If you do not have Advanced Config switched on in the API Config tab, then you cannot edit the Crontab settings. Return to the API Config tab and switch this on. See the screenshot on the next page.

For a detailed explanation of crontab see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cron

When you are in the Cron Manager tab, you can edit the cron settings as per normally formatted cron time parameters. Here in the screen below you can see that we have set the Abandoned Cart trigger job to run every 15 minutes and the list sync for Magento Customer List (MW) to run every 4 hours.

Click the Save Config button.

Your configuration of the Magento Integration for Pure360 is now complete. Over time you may wish to refer to the Administrator Guide to tune settings to better suit your needs. There is also a Reference guide which explains every screen and setting and their purposes.
