The 22 volunteers were sent on a 2-week mission to rural communities in TAMALE (Tamale Archdiocese), MANFO (Goaso diocese), ANYINAM (Koforidua Diocese) and JUABEN (Konongo-Mampong diocese). The teams, led by members of the ICPE ‘Partners in Mission’, served in various ways... from working at a doctor's clinic and an orphanage, to organising free  vacation classes for school pupils.  They visited homes, streets to educate the community of relevant social and health issues: human trafficking, marriage & family life, child and substance abuse, nutrition, sexually transmitted infections, health insurance, etc; door-to-door evangelisation, topical teachings and other activities for the development of the local Church. Cloths collected were distributed to the needy in the communities and an orphanage in Tamale. The Volunteers had the opportunity in one of the communities to educate the populace through the local Information Centre (FM radio). About 500 school pupils benefited from the free vacation classes and over 2000 adults were educated on various issues. At Juaben, the parish priest was so impressed with the work of the volunteers that upon his request the outreach to his parish was extend for another week. The volunteers went through a 4-day formation and orientation session at the Pastoral Centre, Christian Village in Kumasi before the outreach. We acknowledge the support of Archbishop Philip Naameh of Tamale, priests and leaders of host parishes, our resource persons, benefactors, Partners in Mission who spearheaded our fund raising activities and all who supported MP Outreach 2010.
