Ghent: An Introduction

Ghent (pron.: /ˈɡɛnt/; Dutch: Gent, pronounced [ʝɛnt]; is a city and a municipality located in the Flemish region of Belgium. It is the capital and largest city of the East Flanders province. The city started as a settlement at the confluence of the Rivers Scheldt and Lys and in the Middle Ages became one of the largest and richest cities of northern Europe. Today it is a busy city with a port and a university.

Belfry of GhentBehind it the Saint Nicholas church is visible. The 91-metre-high belfry of Ghent is one of three medieval

The El Fili came off the printing press at Van Loo at No. 66 Vlanderestraat and Rizal sent to Hong Kong two copies: one for Jose Ma.

trip to Hong Kong from Marseilles, as well as the letter for the Director of the Messageries Maritimes. He was boarding at 9 Rue de Hinaut.
