Dear Friends,

More and more studies are showing that creating creates longer, happier and healthier lives. Learning new things, getting out of a constant rou-tine, being in a different environment all contribute to a quality and quantity of life that we invite you to experience at Ghost Ranch.

Where can you say to your children, “Have fun, see you in a few hours,” and know they are safe and happy? Where can you stay away from thou-sands of emails and texts and constant clamoring for your time? Where can you say “I could never (fill in the blank–paint, write, make a silver bracelet or a pot, repair a roof, help a stranger, dig up dinosaur bones, embrace the wilderness, meditate) and then do it abundantly? What are the truly divine qualities in us that God intended when we were created in God’s image?

You can read all the scientific research on why your brain reacts the way it does to stress and then how it reacts to creativity and leisure.

Or you can simply experience the way that your body, mind, heart and soul react to being at Ghost Ranch.

We’ll see you soon!

No refunds will be processed after that time. We reserve the right to announce a change in leadership or cancel any program 30 days prior to the first day of the course. In that unlikely event, you may transfer to another course without charge or we will refund the full course payment. Many participants have found it helpful to purchase travel insurance.

Helpful InfoHealth: Ghost Ranch is committed to accommodating all individuals who wish to participate in its programs and be part of our community. Located in the high desert at an altitude of 6,500 feet, Ghost Ranch is very remote from medical facil-ities. The nearest hospital is 35 miles away and the Ranch provides only basic first aid services. The Abiquiu Clinic is 15 miles away but has limited hours and services. There is a 5-15 minute walk from most rooms to the Dining Hall, Library, Museums and meeting rooms. We strongly urge people with health challenges to con-sult with their physician before registering. Remember to bring a sufficient supply of medications for your time here.

Weather: The high desert altitude (6,500 feet) can produce extremely variable weather. Summer temperatures range from 50° to 95°, with afternoon thunder-storms possible. Fall to winter temperatures can range from lows of zero or below at night to highs of 70° at midday; be prepared for rain and/or snow.

What to Bring: To make your stay more comfortable you may want to pack the following: comfortable, casual clothes you can layer • sturdy walking shoes, rain gear • hat • flashlight • sun block • toiletries • alarm clock • hair dryer • bathrobe • cash for purchases in shops on the Ranch. There is no on-site ATM machine.

Computers & Telecommunications: We offer free Wi-fi access in select locations on the Ranch. A terminal with internet access in the Trading Post Café is available 24-hours. Due to Ghost Ranch’s remote location, cell phones may not work. Some phones are available for guest use to make long-distance calls with your credit card. Some wireless hot spots (for cell phones, tablets and laptops) may be found at various places on the Ranch.

Persons with Special Needs: Children and adults with disabilities are wel-comed at Ghost Ranch. Please contact the Registrar’s Office to discuss the type of accommodations you may need. This includes, but is not limited to, wheelchair ac-cessible bedrooms, bathrooms and special diets. A limited number of golf carts are available for use by persons with special needs. Cost per week is noted on the reg-istration form. A valid driver’s license is required and a golf cart policy agreement must be signed. Please call 505.685.1002 for golf cart needs. Please note all of your special needs on the registration form. If you use a wheelchair or scooter and need shuttle service from the Albuquerque airport to Ghost Ranch call 505.685.1002.

Pet Policy: Pets are not allowed in Ghost Ranch facilities, including the camp-ground, with the exception of assistance animals with prior notification to the Registrar’s Office. Some of our guests may be allergic.

GHOST RANCH is a unique combination of natural beauty, paleontology, archaeology, history, geology and art. It is not just the values of each of these separate aspects of Ghost Ranch, but rather the synergy of its beauty, its scientific value, its cultural and historical traditions and its spirituality that make it like no other place in the world.
