Library Newsletter WELCOME BACK

Welcome back to a new school year! I just wanted to take

the time to introduce myself and give you some information

regarding the Gibbs High School Library. My name is Dana

Rider (formerly Bolle, my email has not been changed yet!)

I am originally from Michigan where I have worked as a

high school librarian for the last 4 years in the metro De-

troit area. I am excited to be working with all of you and

exploring my new city!

LIBRARY RESERVATIONS AND PROJECTS

Please let me know if you would like to reserve the library

for your classes or if you would like collaborate on any up-

coming projects. One of my favorite aspects of being a

school librarian is working with teachers to create projects

and activities for their students that incorporate library re-

sources or technology.

Doing library orientations is a great way to get students ac-

quainted with what kinds of materials that the library has

to offer. Please let me know if you would like to set up

something for your class, I would LOVE to help you!

SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

We will be doing school announcements just like you have

in the past. When you have an announcement please send

me an email to dana.bolle@knoxschools.org , and give me

the announcement you would like to be put into the an-

nouncement feed, or send me a PowerPoint slide with your

information on it so I can just add the slide to the an-

nouncement presentation. Please also include how long it

needs to stay on the announcement feed, that would be a

great help!

ORDERING LIBRARY MATERIALS

If you have any requests for library materials that you

would like to see in our library to help to supplement your

curriculum please send me a list. I would like to work with

all of you to have a well balanced collection but also to en-

sure that students have access to additional resources that

will go along with what they are learning in their classes.

Another thing to look at is if you will be doing any research

projects this year, let me now what topics students will be

researching so that materials can be available for student

use.

I am looking forward to a great school year and getting to

work with each one of you!
