As technology brings the world closer together, the need to “feel” connected to each other is a reality. The lifestyle of working Gilroy families can be as hectic as any family around the world. Many experience two working parents with children coming and going to school and a variety of activities. Every working parent understands the struggle to maintain balance between their work and home life. In addition to having children of their own, many families have aging parents who need help and attention.

Gilroy continues to grow. In fact, a 20-year plan for growth is currently being developed with input from the Gilroy Planning Advisory Committee. The need to feel connected to loved ones both at home and when out in the community has rapidly become a priority. The ability to maintain personal security for our homes and loved ones is being streamlined in today’s world.

Advances in security technology are good news for busy families. These days security devices are not restricted to just the home site, but can easily be accessed by PDA’s, web browsers on a PC or cell phone. Many parents are finding comfort in being able to monitor the arrival and departure of school-age children as well as their activities in the home through the aid of cameras. Through a variety of home security options, individuals are given extra peace of mind by being able to set up text or email alerts to monitor elderly parents. Also, fire alarms should be linked to a home security system. This will save valuable minutes in securing the safety of your loved ones in the advent of a fire.

Much thought has gone into the creation of Gilroy’s current and future neighborhood communities. Taking advantage of the benefits that next-generation digital technology provides can help you strengthen bonds, enhance communication, and stay connected to your property and the people you love in and out of our wonderful city of Gilroy.
