How to Register• Registration opens December 1• Go to GirlScoutSummer.com • Select Sleepaway & Day Camp

Camp Fees:We believe that every girl, regardless of financial circumstances, should have the opportunity to experience camp. To keep camp affordable for all families, we’ve adopted a voluntary tiered pricing structure that allows families to choose to pay the true cost of the Girl Scout camp expereince.

Tier A: The actual cost for each girl to attend camp. This includes costs like program supplies, staffing, training, insurance, certification and inspection fees, food, and maintenance costs.

Tier B: Camp fee that is much lower than the true cost of camp. These rates are subsidized through fundraising, special events, and the hard work of Girl Scouts during the Cookie Program.

CampershipThe council has established a camp Financial Assistance fund for girls who are registered members of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and participate in the 2018 Cookie Program. This fund is supported by the community and individual donations for girls who are active members of our Council.

Use Your Cookie DoughCookie Dough may be used to pay for camp. Just mail in your cookie dough to apply toward your camp tuition. Cookie Dough cannot be refunded for cash.

FAQsQ: How will my child be supervised?A: Camp professionals are trained to supervise campers to make sure they are properly fitted for a life jacket, but also making sure they are changing their clothes every day, drinking water, and applying sunscreen. Girl Scouts places a high priority on safety and train staff in all aspects of camp life.

Q: How is camp staff selected and screened?A: Camp staff includes homegrown Girl Scouts who have many years of experience in scouting, as well as students from local and international universities. After references are verified, all counselors are required to have an interview with the Camp Director. All staff must also pass a criminal background check and attend staff training.

Q: Can my camper have a buddy at camp?A: Campers are welcome to sign up for camp with a friend or two who are within one grade of each other and interested in the same session of camp. If camp buddies are different grades (for example: fourth and fifth grade), they will be placed in a living unit based on the younger camper’s grade. Even the best of friends need time to explore their individual interests and make new friends while at camp.

Leadership Experience

Dream of being a camp counselor one day? Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is a three-level, progressive residential training program at GSGATL’s renowned summer programs. At the end of the training, CITs will receive a formalized certificate. Get ready to:• Develop character-defining leadership skills• Become a respected and beloved mentor to younger girls• Work closely with camp staff• Gain an understanding of camp operations and learn how to plan activities• Build confidence by shadowing camp staff and leading parts of activities

Counselor-In-Training I - Grades 9-10 In CIT I, participants will learn and practice skills needed to be a positive and supportive mentor to younger girls, while contributing to an empowering and inclusive community experience. CIT I provides participants with a balance of new knowledge and theory, ample opportunities to practice new skills, and a supportive, mentored environment to thrive!

Counselor-In-Training II - Grades 10-12CIT II is the natural progression for those who have been successful in the CIT I experience. The CIT II level adds knowledge and practical experience in the extremely important areas of team dynamics, leadership and followership when working with peers, and project leadership/management. CIT II delivers the skills to move participants beyond being just strong youth leaders, but strong members of a mission-focused team and community.

Counselor Intern - Grades 9-12The Counselor Intern level allows the participant who has successfully completed CIT I and CIT II to continue developing her skills and gaining experience in leadership. Counselor Interns will select one or more one-week periods of time during the summer, and will work with camp leadership to identify 1-2 areas to study and explore via an individual guided practicum during that week.
