• Indiana University is implementing a new web-based system for completing Form I-9s, E-Verify, and Background Checks
• GIS will replace the current HireRight system
• The “go live” date is Monday, February 17th

Background Checks
• IU policy for Staff & Temporary employees requires that criminal and sex offender information is verified as a condition of employment
• IU Programs Involving Children policy requires that individuals who will work with children have been subject to a criminal background check and sex offender registry check within the last five years

The standard background check package that will be utilized by IU will include:
• SSN Trace• SSN Validation• County Criminal Search• GIS National Database Search
