JULY - AUGUST 2015 GISELLE TRUJILLO 17
Note from your Editor-In-Chief, Giselle TrujilloJuly-August 2015
Happy summer to all across our planet earth, i hope everyone is happy, in great health and doing well.
I am pleased to announce my very first bi-monthly issue. Going from a monthly to a bi-monthy was a very big decision for me. Though, i enjoyed every minute of publishing my monthly digital publication for the past few years, I am only one person doing it all with so much love, spending every minute of my days in front of the computer and thinking of what’s next way ahead time was not helping me in moving forward with many of my other projects, the feeling of rush, rush, is the very same feeling i did not like in my days in the fashion industry, which it’s not me. No worries though, i will always maintain my revolutionary ways, luckily, i never lacked any sleep, but was mentally and physically overworked. I love what i do and love sharing everything i can with you all. So, i found a sweet point where we can all benefit, I decided to continue my digital publication. The only reason I am able to comfortably transition into a bi-monthly electronic magazine, i don’t support or promote gossip, bullying or negativity of any kind in my publication. With that said, now that all the clutter is out, i am here to bring a heap of fun and present to you my very first bi-monthly electronic revolutionary magazine. My e-magazine is simple in many ways, i am here to share knowledge and bring you interesting articles and editorials. So much is being forgotten and overlooked that sometimes it’s just great to revisit certain topics. In this publication i cover topics in fashion, culture and lifestyle. My target audience is any being from any age range, culture, race or religion, etc., no discrimination here. Since, i am not able to change the world to a better place, this is my contribution for peace on our planet earth. I hope you find some enjoyment in reading this electronic magazine.
HAPPY SUMMER TO ALL! Life Is Wonderful!
Peace, Love & Hugs!

Revolutionary Madeleine VionnetWho was she?

By Giselle Trujillo
Chances are you have never heard of Vionnet, unless in the fashion industry, of course. She may not have significance to most, but for the fashion community, Madeleine Vionnet is a powerful figure, a revolutionary woman, who changed the world of fashion. Maedeline Vionnet was known as the “Queen of bias cut” and the “architect among dressmakers”. Vionnet had her unique innovative style and techniques, that today are still in use by fashion designers.
Madeleine Vionnet was born in Loiret, France to a poor family on June 22, 1876. Vionnet, was not your typical fashion designer, she was known to be a very private woman. She openly disliked the fashion world and expressed her appreciation for beauty. Vionnet was only twelve when she became an apprentice as a seamstress. She got married at 18, loss her child, left her husband and to work as hospital seamstress in London. By 1912 Vionnet established her first fashion house in Paris, which was forcibly closed do to the First World War, she reopened after the war and gained popularity as a leading fashion designer in France. Unfortunately, Vionnet was forced to close her fashion house again in 1939, followed her retirement in 1940. Vionnet was known to realize her garments on a short scaled doll, the use of bias cut and her handkerchief dress. Madeleine Vionnet died March 2, 1975 at the age of 95 in Paris, France, she was one of the most influential fashion designers of the 20th century, a designer who introduced a movement of modern, practical and elegant styles.

SPIDER SILK The strongest fiber in nature
By Giselle Trujillo
Incredible, but very true. Spider fiber/fibre is known to be the strongest fiber on this planet. You have probably seen many spider webs in your life and if you look closely you will see some beautiful intricate web patterns. Who knew, that this is the strongest fiber? It actually makes sense. Have you ever tried to get rid of a spider web with a pressure water from a hose? I have and i am never able to destroy it with water pressure. It’s strength is incredible.
Spider silk is spun by spiders, of course and it’s a protein fibre. The purpose of their web creation is to catch and trap animals. They also form a silk cocoon to protect their Spider are genius creatures with tremendous characteristics.
In fact all spiders produce silk can produce up to seven types of silk (prey immobilization, food source, reproduction, alarm lines, pheromonal traits, nest construction, dispersal, guide lines, dispersal and prey capture).
Spider silk is five times stronger than steel by weight. It’s structure is amino acid sequence of repeated glycine and alanine blocks. Making this silk great for bulletproof vests or garments, suitable for wound patches and to coat implants, because of it’s antimicrobial properties and it’s not rejected by the human body. A magical fibre indeed.
Don’t think spider silk has not be entertained for the commercial market, many firms have tried to synthetically farm raise spiders and it has not been successful at all, do to the spiders natural cannibalistic and territorial characteristics and complex protein structure. Also, about 1,500 spider silk strands would be needed to make a thread. Fascinating!

THE OPULENCE VAULT
As i always say, life is wonderful and there is truth to the yin and the yang, the balance of life. As humble as i am, i also enjoy and appreciate high quality goods and craftsmanship. If you happen to be financially privileged or simple work really hard to feed your luxury habits, here are some magnificent products to check out. The following are public luxuries available to anyone. Extraordinary luxuries that you can only get by being on a waiting list will not be posted in this editorial, those will be shared in my private club. Work hard, play hard, always keeping your feet grounded. There in nothing wrong with affording luxuries, as long as you respect others, share and maintain humble integrity.
Yours truly,
Giselle Trujillo

Camping in MAUI, the most beautiful camping experience.By Editor-In-Chief, Giselle Trujillo
Yes, the tittle says it all and so far from my experience, indeed, very true. Look here, i kid you knot, when i say “beautiful”, i really mean “beautiful”. Prior to our camping adventure we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, Maui, for a few days, which was an absolute luxury and fabulous experience. But this is about our camping experience which is unreal if you do it correctly and go prepared. This experience is the adventurers who love and appreciate nature. What should you expect from this wonderful experience is peace, beauty, tranquility and fresh air. The
other side of this adventurous experience is the dangers nature may brings. For example if you don’t know anything about camping and are excited to pitch your tent, you might find yourself swing in the your tent while your tent floats in the water. This can honestly happen to anyone and this is why, when you arrive at your exotic beach destination, it was most likely during the day and after 4pm the shore comes up higher, meaning the water levels
rise further onto the land. With that very important detail, your beach camping experience should begin to be successful. I will share some tips to get your experience started. continue on next page....

QUICK MAUI CAMPING PREPARATION TIPS
1. Travel light: If US citizen all you need is your drive’s license.
2. Pack light, you can even buy your tent on the island. Bring only necessities, important documents (make extra copies of yours and your partners), cash and credit cards, night really chilly, bring long sweats and sweater plus socks as part of your wardrobe, a pair of sunglasses, water sandals, bathing suits, etc. Other option, you can buy everything you need on the island. We bought a cooler, bug repellant, suntan lotion, snorkeling gear and a few other items, we spent no more than $300 for 5 weeks of heavenly sunrises and sunsets.
At the end of our trip, we walked to local parks, went up to the bums and donated all our sealed foods, water bottles, towels, bedding and anything else we did not want to carry with us back home. You are doing a good deed and making someone very happy. You can wash and rinse your bedding and towels at any beach showers and public bathrooms, air dry them and gift away.
3. Rent a minivan, this is your mobile home, i decorated ours like a home, with a food section, wardrobe section, etc. It was beautiful, to prevent things from heating up inside the van, i used our towels and beach pareo’s as curtains, yes, our mobil home looked like a modern hippie van, very beautiful.
3. Get a map of the island at any tourist attraction. Plan your trip around the island’s best beaches, most have minimal camping fees (from about $2 - $15 per night), you get a car pass. Get familiar with all areas.
4. Follow the rules, make sure you camp where camping is permitted. Otherwise, the risk is all yours.
5. Pitch your tent in a safe visible yet pr private are and common sense, don’t leave valuables in your tent. Don’t leave any food in your tent. Don’t littler on the island and keep your living space clean. continue on next page....
As mentioned before, this experience for the adventurous ones and you are not alone, expect to share your beach sands real estate with other families, while on the island for 5 weeks, on each beach we saw no more than 5 campers, which is honestly, great. You will find campers playing their guitars by the fire, while other barbecue,
some bring games and the environment is very fun while listening to the ocean and enjoying every natural landscape. The 5am morning sunrises were absolutely spectacular, we'd wake up to watch the sea turtle
coming up for air, which was a great indication for snorkeling spots. At sunset, we would watch fish jumping as well as some whales. We spent a lot of time beach bumming, driving around the island, snorkeling and
sightseeing, this MAUI trip is one of my favorites and if you ever experienced what we did, you would also collect this experience very close to your heart. Have fun!

The 2015 NYC Fancy Food Show Special
The 2015 NYC Fancy Food Show Special
By Editor-In-Chief, Giselle TrujilloJuly 2015
Another successful and wonderful Fancy Food Show in New York City. Truly a spectacular event for food aficionados, culinary enthusiast, restaurateurs, retailers and gastronomical experts. The Fancy Food Show is were all international gourmet foods meet, a beautiful synergy that regardless of our believes, religions, cultural backgrounds, it is a place where everyones gets along and share a friendly and happy energy. I can only imagine how countries traded in the past, the image is a bit clear in my mind from what has been depicted in historical evidence, the fisherman's trading at the ports, the smuggling of ingredients that today are legal, the trading of spices, meats, fruits, vegetables, cocoa, salt, sugar and the list goes on. Just imagine how the trading industry must have been, the exporting and importing troubles they must have gone through, just to get their products across massive bodies of water and massive natural formations, to share and exchange something that their land offered.
Throughout the centuries, the trading process has become easier with all the luxuries the modern world offers and i’m referring to trains, planes, ships and trucks. The trading industry is an immense industry, in the trillions, without trading, our planet earth would be silent. Think about it and with that in mind I find great respect and appreciation for the Fancy Food Show, this is a very well organized show with great benefits for it’s exhibitors, most importantly an amazing place for exhibitors to showcase their latest products and most importantly the very place where they welcome you and and insist that you try their products, most do. If you have not been able to attend the show, each participating country and region have their own section, this year Italy was the partner owning the largest amount of real estate a the show, second was China, then almost even was France and Greece.
The three day event is never enough time to visit all areas, five days in my humble opinion would be better. Exhibitors import an abundance of foods from anything and everything you can imagine from their native lands, from herbs, exotic spices, fruits, meats, vegetables, luxury goods, fine wines, exceptional gourmet foods, meats, fish, sweets, cheese, spreads, to pastries, the list includes everything you can imagine to buy n your local markets, all under one roof. And believe me when i tell you, that you can try everything they have to offer, i personally get turned off seeing too much food, but i do have my favorite booths, this year i came across some really delicious treats from sweet garlic stuffed in olives from Spain, waffles with hazelnut chocolate spread from Spain also, Honey Bee Cheese from Holland, and some delicious Italian and French products, just to name a few. From thousands of exhibitors, please take a look at my top 20 products from the Fancy Food Show this year. And as the Italians say Buon Appetito. Ciao!

All About Nails & PolishBy Giselle Trujillo
ABOUT FINGERNAILSDid you know that hair and nails are made up of keratin protein,
meaning whatever you eat tat is good for you nails is also good for your nails. Keep that in mind if you want healthy nails and hair.
Because nails do have a real purpose, you must let your nails breath as much as you can. The purpose for finger nails is debated, but we can say from experience, they protect our nail beds (the soft tissue), they
are very useful for peeling things, scratching, picking at things and many other uses. Studies have shown that fingernails grow more in the
summer and an average of 3.5 millimeters per month. They also say that just by looking at your fingernails, deceases may be determined.
After all, nails have great purpose to primates.
NAIL POLISH HISTORYNail polish is a human acceptable lacquer worn on fingernails for decorative purposes. Believe it or not nail polish dates back to as early as 3000 BC. with origins in China. The first established nail polish brand is Revlon in 1932. During the
Zhou Dynasty in China, around 6000BC the favorite colors of the royal house was silver and gold, which was then replaced by black, red nail polishes. While in Egypt wearing nail polish was a status of wealth, the high society wore red nail polish, the poor wore a pale color. I understand now why red nail polish is so powerful, in fact red in most articles is
a sign of wealth and royalty. In Greece, the only ones allowed to wear nail color where the male rules. As if that was not enough, commoners were beaten to death if caught wearing nail polish. In case wondering where nail polishes were
made from, most of natural ingredients including boiled roses and blood from chicken, just to name a few. However, today this is not the case, most nail polishes are are made from chemicals that may result in some poor health. Many
commercial brands are offering healthier nail polishes these days.
Both men and women care about their appearances. All my life i’ve known that beautiful hair, nails and teeth are essential to our appearance. For me, i feel, going as natural as
possible is always a great idea, thus it is extremely difficult, i speak for myself, when i say, i try very hard. Some of my favorite beauty brands are organic or natural, while some are
not. Regarding nails, i have tried a few different methods and i’ve tried to keep the simples and most natural ones. The rubbing of smashed garlic every few days for some reason hardens my nails and help them grow faster. I also grew up carrying a bottle of clear nail polish in my bag whenever i wear stockings, incase i rip my stocking, clear nail polish will
stop the run, this works. So far i have found a clear nail polish that hardens and grows my nails consistently, the NK Glossier Nails Acrylic Top Coat, Made in USA, thus many chemicals includes in the ingredients, I use this once in a while to help and maintain when i want to
keep my nails long.

MUSICWho Can Do Music?
By Giselle Trujillo
Hey! Did anyone forget that music is a form of art? Apparently so. And to answer the “who should do music” question, ANYONE who is passionate about sounds, understands sounds and has the ability to make sound, can do music. And that is just the beginning of it, with everything i mentioned above, comes love, passion and most important persistent.
The voice itself is an instrument and powerful one at that. Most take the ability to speak and hear for granted. Many want to sing and feel they don’t sound pleasant and throw away the option to pursue singing if that is really what they want. Singing is about training your vocals safely in order to deliver our melodic message. Besides the one instrument
most of us know as the voice, there are so many other parts of our bodies that produce music. Yes, now you can understand why the human body is so amazingly special, we all the ability to create sounds, then rhythm then melodies
full of notes. Isn't that something incredible. Just know that if you really want to create music, you don’t need anything much but your body, you don’t need money and certainly don’t need anyone telling you, you cannot make
sounds. So... with that in mind.... anyone who want create sounds, can, try it.
When i wrote this article, i had in mind myself and all the people that say they want to do music, but with so many industry obstacle, putting so many restrictions and labels, i had to write about this. From someone that is passionate
about music, i find that bringing the reality back to basics is a great place to start at the same time, i am here to motive all music lovers and tell you that you can do anything you want, however you want and the possibilities are
endless. I am not here to tell you all about the music industry, but i f i can be an inspiration to get you to pursue your passions, then here i am. Start to create music when you want to, however you want and put it out there, no matter
how crazy and unique it sound, sharing with others is a great way of getting better, because you will receive some feedback. Be open to feedback and respectful. After all, music is so much fun and with music technology you can
find yourself experiment with millions of sounds. Again, music is a form of art and art should never have limitations.
Now.... Who should do music? Anyone with the ability to produce sounds constructed with timed intervals called beats and create a melody that’s pleasant to the human ear can create music. Music is the aftermath of sounds coming
together to form a collaboration that is pleasant. Many animals are known to deliver sound beautiful systematic sounds, such a birds, even bodies of water, winds create sounds, virtually all living mechanism create a sound.
Some body parts that create some amazing sounds The mouth Hand claps
Vibrating your lips togetherRubbing fingernails together
Tapping your cheeks with your hand palms while open mouthTapping your lips back and forth while saying your vowels
Slapping thighs or butt cheeksYour throat
Now, you incorporate virtually any object to your arsenal of bodily sounds, from rubber bands to cans and create new sounds and if you have the ability to understand the structure of other instruments, your capabilities are endless. While
some have the gifted talent to operate other instruments such as the guitar, piano, flute, etc., anyone can learn and train to improve their instrument skills. As you can see, our bodies are fascinating with such amazing abilities.
Happy Music Making!!!

THE HEALING POWERS OF SOUNDBy Giselle Trujillo
THE ABORIGINAL PEOPLESound is magical and sound healing is not a new thing, this healing method was practiced by most ancient cultures. It is said that the Aboriginal people of Australia are the first known sound healers. The tool of choice is the yidaki which has been used for over 40,000 years. They were known to heal illnesses and
broken bones.
THE EGYPTIANSAs for the Egyptians, they used seven vowels sounds and a sistra for healing methods, it was so sacred to
them, they did not include any vowels in their hieroglyphic language. During the Greco-Roman period in
Egypt, patient would go in these small cells where they would undergo music therapy and dream sleep
incubation. Chants were used for spiritual ascension and healing. Modern studies show that the vowel sound alters the state of consciousness to serenity and delivers positive physiological change to the body.
THE GREEKSPytagoras, during the circa 500BC. was known to be the father of music therapy., he used the lyre and the
flute for healing.
IN INDIA
Chanting or the use of certain specific sounds/words are popular in deep meditation practice. Most commonly used for yoga, makes sense due to the healthy properties of yoga practice.
NATIVE AMERICANSDrumming and vocal sounds/chanting are practiced for spiritually, communication and healing.
These are just some minor details of the healing of sound properties, the process is more powerful than
anything we can imagine. Today, we know of many cultures that still use the vowel sound, most popular are the Tibetan and Mongolian monks. As you can see the human body is a fantastic machine and is more
magical than people think, taking it for granted shall no longer be an option. All the evidence lies within
your body structure and mind. Vibrations and sounds are powerful. As humans we have the ability to
receive information directly from our environment in order to heal any issues, transform and communicate with each other. Here is the key of activity, the human body is made up of atoms that consist of electrons and nucleus (neutrons and protons) which spin really fast and creates a pulse, creating waves, which
results in matter. Sound is created when wave, form and matter are present, this is referred to as the “Law
of Three”. At that point you will experience increased energy. There is something else more intriguing, i’s called Cymatics, this is a visual process of when sand, iron fillings or fine powders resting on flat metal and
vibrated with sound waves, an intricate pattern form, those patterns are called Chalynadi. This is one
power of sound. Besides the chants, there are many instruments that deliver healing powers, however the
voice is the most powerful, because it’s intensified more directly with intention. The key to any healing
starts with great intention and positiveness. That of itself creates such energy. There are many levels of increased energy and an abundance of benefits in which sound heals, some include; higher conciseness,
intuition improvement, anxiety and stress relief, headache relief, physical-spiritual and mental improvement, enhanced creativity, improved concentration, energy increase, deeper meditation and many
more benefits that will result in a more aware life and journey.
Treat yourself and your body with the power of sound and you too can enjoy the true benefits of or bodies. The more we practice the healing powers of sounds, the more intelligent and healthier we will be. A right
and access each human is gifted with.
