Give a High Five to KES
Dear KES Community –
It is hard to believe that the 2009-2010 school year is quickly coming to an end. I wanted to thank all of you for your many contributions throughout the school year. Because of your generosity the PTO was able to contribute the following to KES:
Classroom stipends to purchase supplies Kindergarten and 1st grade journals Kindergarten Scholastic News
1st grade Weekly Reader 2nd grade Weekly Reader 3rd grade Buckle Down Reading
4th grade Buckle Down Math 4th grade Black Stallion Reading Program 5th grade Buckle Down Science
Cafeteria donation/sponsorship Digital camera for Art Department Obstacle course for PE department
Tether ball poles for playground Bench for playground Fieldtrip Sponsorships
IMAC for Music department Teacher Appreciation Breakfast Education City Software
Whitney Lab Traveling Zoo K-5th Library donation to replenish lost or damaged books
We would like to be able to make a few more contributions before the end of the year and we need your help. “Give a High Five to KES” is a donation program that will start May 3rd through May 17th. We are asking to “Give a High Five to KES” in hopes that each student will donate a minimum of $5. For each $5 donation we will write the student’s name on a cut out hand and put it on the front of their classroom door.
In these difficult times I know that every penny is accounted for and donations can be challenging however, as you can see by the above list, these donations are supplying our school with the necessary teaching materials to better educate our children. Anything that you feel comfortable donating will be greatly appreciated.
As always I take pride in the support of our KES community and the opportunities that this support has given our children.
Thank You, Amy Newman PTO President
Today your child will be coming home with a flyer talking about giving a “High Five to
KES.” The “high Five to KES” is our final fundraiser for the year. Please take a moment to
read the flyer and consider making a contribution.
Mark your calendars...Monday, June 7th, will be our Summer Send Off Festival. Please
continue to watch for more details in the Dolphin Digest. What a great way to say goodbye to classmates for
the summer. Our bus loop will be full of fun activities and lots of great food. Please call me if you are able to
help out at a booth, food prep, set up, or take down. Amy Newman, PTO President 819-9894
