STRUCTURE When you give directions, you give instructions to
go to a place.
The structure for instructions is the IMPERATIVE:
VERB + COMPLEMENT
EXAMPLE: Cross the avenue
Go straight
Go upstairs

DIRECTIONS
In most directions, the complement starts with a preposition or an adverb of place:
Go along the path
Go into the building
Go over the bridge
Turn right
