The value of God’s gift, the Lord Jesus Christ, is beyond

description. But to declare and make this Gift known is the most valuable gift we can give to others. BMI began out of a heart to train pastors and Christian leaders to present this Gift with accuracy and

integrity to people around the world. To this day, we continue to explore innovative approaches to train leaders to exponentially reach those who need to know the Gift. The Encountering Christ Conferences, as well as the new Biblical Training and Mentoring Program (BTMP), are user friendly and designed to be taught and retaught by leaders throughout the world. In its first

introductory year, the program has already been adopted by a number of Bible colleges/seminaries, and many pastors and professors are teaching the material to other leaders and their churches. Encountering Christ expanded into Russia as the first of two

Encountering Christ Conferences (ECC) took place in November in Sochi, the host city of the 2014 Olympic games. Fifteen Russian pastors who were handpicked by the vice-president of the Russian Baptist Union attended.

National Director, Rev. Sonam Kabo, and his wife, Rita, continue to minister at Elim Church and Elim

Christian Academy in Kathmandu, Nepal. In addition, they have been extremely busy traveling

throughout northern India and Nepal conducting Christian

leader and women’s conferences based

on the BMI materials

and the new BTMP. Sonam also traveled to Hong Kong, where he taught a BMI marriage

conference for Nepalese pastors and wives, and introduced the BTMP to the Lutheran Theological Seminary. At home in Kathmandu, he has helped launch the BTMP at Nepal Ebenezer Bible College as part of their curriculum as well as teaching at the Evangelical Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

“In the beginning of 2014 an unprecedented conflict erupted between Ukraine and Russia which filled

life, work and ministry with unexpected interruptions, fears and challenges. Nevertheless, the work in this region continues. Throughout the year we have been writing the manuals for the ‘7 Steps of Christian Living’, developing our new Biblical Training and Mentoring Program (BTMP), reworking our practical ministry manuals and preparing for new training opportunities. In addition to this ground work, together with Dr. Jonathan Burnham, we conducted the Bangkok Summit and Sochi ECC, launched the vision for BTMP, and taught a marriage retreat for the top leadership of the Baptist Union of Ukraine by the

personal invitation of its president (pictured right). All this work has opened new doors of opportunity for BMI for Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Central Asia and Africa for 2015.”

Much has been happening in this region of the world.

In April 2014, Dr. Jonathan Burnham taught Part II of the Encountering Christ Conference which was held at the Hanoi Bible College in Vietnam. Christian leaders returned for the second year from all over southeast Asia. In addition, a special marriage

retreat was conducted with leaders from northern Vietnam in Halong Bay. Working with national director, Dr. Minh Dang, is Joshua Nguyen who continues to administer BMI DVD training materials to areas in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.Jonathan will travel there again this spring for ongoing ministry.

When I was young, my burning desire was to preach every day by means of meetings, radio or

television. Today, I recognize not only human limitations, but the essential principle of multiplication – train others.

The task is bigger than one man. That one man gets tired and older, but investing in other proclaimers of the gospel produces far greater eternal dividends.
