This day marks the start of a life changing experience for her as she heads towards winding up her fabulous teaching career. Fortunately for GHPS, Leonie has been a teacher since August, 1998 and then as our Art teacher since June, 1999. Although Leonie will be returning for the last day of term 4, this day is just as special. We wish you an amazing time away. ART Teacher GHPS is delighted to announce that Mrs Melinda Oldham will be replacing Mrs Sonnberger as of 4 th September. Mrs Oldham comes to us having taught at Osborne P.S. and enjoyed working at GHPS last week with Mrs Sonnberger and Ms de Bruyn. She reported that she had a very good day and we very much look forward to Melinda joining our school community with her first day being the Cabaret Rehearsal. Congratulations on your appointment. 2017 Cabaret It certainly has been a very, very exciting lead up to the 2017 GHPS Cabaret! As of today, there are 4 sleeps to go!! There have been months of planning, rehearsals, costume design, dancing, singing, playing instruments, all in readiness for this much awaited and anticipated annual event. Don’t forget to bring back your notice regarding your child attending the whole school day rehearsal. A big combined thank you and congratulations to the excellent teachers of Music and Dance, Laura James- Clark, Ms Bianca Bruce, Mr John Jacobs and Mr David Jenkins, TOGETHER with our amazing students in every single grade. We look forward to seeing them perform at Kingston Town Hall. A cabaret notice was sent home on Monday 28 th August to each class from Lisa and Tania advising them about their costumes. At the end of the school day on Monday 4 th September the classroom teachers will mark off each student as they distribute the costumes. We also acknowledge what a dazzling job Lisa and Tania are doing with the costumes this year and thank them for all the hard work they have put into getting everything ready. Thank you to Ms Marie Kasambalis for coordinating the event. A notice went home with students last week. 2018 Enrolments Workforce planning at GHPS for next year is underway which includes planning for the numbers of students who will be enrolling in Prep and the numbers of students at all levels. If you have a child at kinder this year who you intend to enrol for Prep in 2018, kindly fill out an enrolment form and drop it into the office. Likewise if you will not be attending GHPS next year due to relocation, please advise us as soon as possible before the end of term. Sunsmart In Victoria from May to August sun protection is not usually needed and we try the get some winter vitamin D. Of course, you always need to check the sun protection times to be sure. As of Monday September 4th we ask all students to get their hats out to wear to school and be Sunsmart.

Hats are available at the Uniform shop at school which is open on Wednesday if your child requires a new one.

School Uniform A reminder to please ensure you are helping your child dress in the full GHPS uniform every day. Our aim is to have all students promoting a smart dress code.

Father’s Day Stall Friday 1st September Thank you so much to GPA who will be organising the Father’s Day Stall at school tomorrow on Friday 2nd September and giving our students the opportunity to purchase something special for dad.

Don’t forget to send some money with your child tomorrow so they can do their bit of shopping in ready for Sunday 4th September and surprise dad.

Father’s Day Sunday 3rd September Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in the GHPS Community. I hope you have a very nice day and your children give you some extra special attention. Maybe you will even get a special gift from the wonderful Father’s Day Stall!

LSL I will be taking long service for 16 days from 6th – 22 September and thank Mr David Jenkins who will be acting as Principal and Ms Amy Tinetti who will be acting Assistant Principal during my absence.
