glen oldham memorial walk 2011
DESCRIPTION
7.20pm on Saturday 27th November 2010 was the moment when Glen said he felt unwell, within minutes his eyes closed for the very last time. Glen was kept on a life support machine until the Organ Donation Teams could get to the hospital. Glen died of a Massive Brain Stem Haemorrhage he was 44 years old and a fit and healthy active young man, there were no symptoms and we had no idea that this was going to happen. On 21st October 2011 a group of specially chosen people began to walk the West Highland Way in memory of Glen. Each of those taking part has a special connection to Glen. This is a 97 mile walk which starts near Glasgow at Milngavie and finishes in Fort William. The team will walk for 7 days covering anything from 12 – 19 miles per day. Glen planned to do this walk but unfortunately passed away before he was able to fulfill his dream. So in a tribute to Glen we will carry out his dream for him and hope to raise awareness and funds for the Brain Research Trust Charity.TRANSCRIPT
