We will have a parent & youth meeting on Wednesday September 5th in the Family Life Center Gym to kick off the beginning of classes for 6th-12th graders (not for confirmation students that will come on Sundays). The English meeting will be from 6:30-7:30pm & the Spanish meeting will be from 7:30-8:30pm. There will not be classes on this day, parents and youth are expected to attend the meeting.

First day of classes will be the following Wednesday September 12th from 6:30-8:00pm.

The fundamental insight: The Word of God is not simply texts spoken at Mass, but first and foremost is a Person, the Word of the Trinity. All liturgical words, in some way, make audible this divine Word. The Mass’s Liturgy of the Word resembles history’s larger economy of salvation: just as the Father conversed with the Chosen People through the prophets, so now does He continue the dialogue with His people in the Mass’s readings. The principal activity: In the days leading up to Sunday, follow the method of lectio divina for the Sunday Gospel: reading, reflecting, responding, contemplating, acting. At Mass, listen attentively with the ears of your heart. In the day or two following the Sunday hearing of the Word, re-call the Gospel message and thank God for the fruits re-ceived. Safe Environment Sessions We will have two safe environment sessions for our Parish during the 2018 -2019 School year. September 23rd at 10:30am in English and 2:00pm in Spanish. February 24th at 10:30am in English and 2:00pm in Spanish. These clas-ses will take place in the Old Parish Hall. You will need to sign up for this class and there will be a limit of 30 people. If you cannot take this class at these times, you have the option to find a church near us that is having a session or go to the Diocese to receive the class. Votive Prayer Candles In the coming weeks the Women of St. Frances Cabrini will be unveiling the Votive Candle stand that will sit at the base of Our Lady of Guadalupe statue. The statue is located inside the church on the north wall. Parishion-ers and guests are invited to use the votive prayer can-dles. The candle stand is an electronic device so match-es are not required. It is operated by making a donation and then (with one finger) lightly pushing down on the top of the candle. Once the top of the candle is re-

leased, it will light up and stay lit for hours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Velas de Oración Votivas En las semanas que vienen las Women de St. Frances Cabrini desvelarán las Velas Votivas

que se encontraran en la base de la estatua de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. La estatua se encuentra dentro de la iglesia en la pared norte. Todos los miembros de la parroquia y visitantes están invitados a usar las velas votivas de oración. El candelabro es un dispositivo elec-trónico, por lo que no es necesario cerillos. Se opera haciendo una donación y luego (con un dedo) empujan-do suavemente la parte superior de la vela. Una vez que se libera la parte superior de la vela, se encenderá y permanecerá encendida durante horas.
