Using Inappropriate Language—Swearing in the playground
There have been recently in our playground reports of students swearing and using this inappropriate language. Our school does not permit the use of this language or swearing. Student are warned they will be put on detention if reported. If they continue to ‘swear’ repeat offenders will be

Hip Hop Boys Dance Group Our boys dance group has run successfully for the last 3 years. This year our boys participated at the Nepean Dance Festival and Blue Mountains Dance Festival in Term 3. We are very proud of their commitment and performance. They are really ‘stars’. Well done boys!.

“Jack’s A Winner” Congratulations to Jack from class 6C who recently represented NSW in the national championships held in Queensland for Haidong Gumbo (Korean Sword Martial Arts). He took out a Gold award. Well done!!

THANK YOU PARENTS Thank you parents for collecting the Coles and Woolworths vouchers for our school. The total Woolworths vouchers collected was 28,108 and the total Coles vouchers collected was 41,372. We have ordered our new resources that these vouchers will provide to our school.

YEAR 6 MINI FETE—10TH NOVEMBER The Year 6 Mini Fete is fast approaching. Please see the flyer attached with this newsletter for a list of the stalls and activities on the day. Parents, grandparents and friends are invited to join in the activities. The fete will commence at 12.30 pm and conclude at 2.00 pm with the drawing of the raffle at 1.55 pm. Please remember to get your raffle tickets
in. Extra books are available from the office.
HEAD LICE
There have been many reported cases of head lice in the school recently. It would be appreciated if all parents could check their children’s hair for head lice and treat where necessary this weekend. Please remember to wash all hats, pillows, quilts etc to try and eradicate the problem.
CLOTHING POOL One of our grandparents has generously offered to open the clothing pool on Friday afternoons from 2.30 pm to 3.00 pm. If you would like to have a look there are quite a lot of summer uniforms in sizes 4 and 6 and also larger size 16. There are also some green polo shirts and lots of long pants and shorts.
HONOUR AWARD PROFILE Dean , 5/6P My name is Dean and I am in the year 5 part of 5/6P with Mrs Pace. I have attended GPPS since Kindergarten and it has always been a goal of mine to achieve an Honour Award. I have represented our school in the greatest game of all Rugby League and Kanga Cricket. My interests are Rugby League, Oztag and riding my scooter with my mates after school and on the weekends.
GOLD AWARD WINNER PROFILE Akhil 2E Hi my name is Akhil . I am in 2E with Mrs Evans. I have an elder sister Annet . She is in Year 3 at GPPS. We both like our pets, Twinkle and Sweetie very much. I am learning piano. I like playing cricket and I am a member of the Redbacks team. I got the ‘Player of the Week’ award last week. I also like swimming, cycling, soccer and computer games. I enjoy doing some sci‐ence experiments with my sister. Jack , 6C Hi my name is Jack and I am 12 turning 13 on 10th December. My teacher is Mr Corry and I am in 6C. I love maths and sport and my 5 dogs. I have also represented NSW in

2 HOUR INDUSTRIAL STOPPAGE Just a reminder that there will be a 2 hour industrial stoppage tomorrow Wednesday 2nd November from 9 am to 11 am. There will be minimal supervision for students at school during this stoppage. Normal classes will resume at 11 am. There will be NO canteen facilities before 11 am. Students participating in swim school will come to school as normal as this activity is not affected by the stoppage.

the nationals for Haidong Gumdo (Korean sword martial art) in Queensland on 22nd October. I have a lot of friends it’s too hard to pick a couple. I am very proud to receive a Gold Award, it’s an honour. I thank all my teachers and friends. Beth , 3A Hi my name is Beth and I am in 3A. During the week I attend physie, swimming and Launch at my church. I am a member of the primary choir and enjoy singing very much. I love attending GPPS. Sam, 6C My name is Sam and I’m in 6C. My favourite subjects are maths and sport. I love playing cricket and other sports and I made it into the Sydney West Cricket Team. I like school and I can’t wait for high school next year.
TOYS ‘N’ TUCKER Our School is again supporting Anglicare’s Toys ‘n’ Tucker Christmas Appeal. This appeal will run for the month of November. The appeal will be collecting new toys and gifts for children and teens (eg toys, board games, sports equipment, retail gift cards) as well as non perishable food items (eg Christmas puddings, Christmas cakes, long‐life custard, tinned ham). Brochures are also available from the office if you would like to make a cash donation or alternatively visit their website at www.toysntucker.org.au or phone 13 2622. All items can be brought to school during November and placed in the boxes provided. Please do not wrap gifts.
