Room 4 students at Narara
absolutely love their
interactive whiteboard. We
have installed these in a
number of classrooms at
Narara to bring them in line
with North Entrance who
have had a few for some
time. We purchased the
projectors, but the
whiteboards have been
donated by Carlingford West
Public School.

A
Dates to Remember
Welcome back to Term 4. I hope you all enjoyed the recent school holiday break. Our
students have settled very quickly back into routine and are working well in what is always our
busiest term.
The parent organised Trivia Night at Mingara on Saturday was great fun and everyone seemed
to enjoy themselves enormously. Thank you to the parents who spent so much time
organising it for us.
We are planning now for our Presentation Day on Thursday 15th December. I do hope that
everyone will be able to spare a couple of hours that morning to join us at St Phillips across the
road from the Narara campus. We start at 10am and usually finish before 12. It is always a
wonderful day when some of our children like to showcase the music they have been taking
part in and we take the opportunity to recognise the progress that our children have made at
school during the year. It is also the occasion when we will announce the school captains and
house captains for 2017 and present our major awards for the year. Your children love to
have you there!
Last term the Department advertised for the new Principal of Glenvale School. Although I will
only be on Long Service Leave until June 2018, I have relinquished the position so that the
school can have the new principal from the start of next year. The new Principal will be Mr
Matthew Johnson who is a Regional Director in Queensland. He is currently responsible for
Special Education state wide in Queensland. I believe that he is very excited about the position
and I know that you will welcome him to the school when he arrives in the new year.
Regards,
Gwenda Williamson
Wed 7th December - Graduation Dinner for Year 12 students
Monday 12th December - Children’s Christmas Party Day
Thurs 15th December - Presentation Day
Fri 16th December - Last day Term 4
Sun 18th December - Bunnings BBQ West Gosford
Every public school asks for a small contribution towards the many costs
associated with education programs. At Glenvale we ask that parents
contribute $35 per child each year. This has not changed for many years and is
a very small contribution by comparison with other schools even though our
costs can be much higher. Please consider sending in the $35 as soon as you
are able to do so. Many thanks to those who have already done so.
All donations to the school over $2 are tax deductible as Glenvale is registered
with the Australian Tax Office as a deductible gift recipient.
