had possession (or is entitled to possession – i.e. play-on)• Loose Ball Start the period with a faceoff

• If there’s a foul before or during a faceoff, award the ball on the offensive side of the field at the Center Faceoff X.

• Player B3 is serving penalty time• B1 has possession • A1 commits a penalty; a flag is down• Ball becomes loose and the period ends.

RULING: Next period begins with a faceoff as both teams are down one man

• Teams are even• B1 has possession• A4 commits a penalty; a flag is down• Ball becomes loose as period ends.

RULING: Team B retains possession to begin the next period
