HELLO! Konnichiwa! SALAM! HOLA! A NEW COOKING ADVENTURE AWAITS YOU!

The Global Grub Story “Along my cooking journey, I got stuck in a recipe routine/rut, so I decided to explore

cooking different ethnic foods. I quickly realized it was an intimidating and difficult

process! I wasn't sure which recipes to use, the ingredients and ethnic food stores were

foreign to me, and I had to invest in big bottles of exotic ingredients (that often went to

waste). But the actual cooking of new ethnic dishes made me feel adventurous,

transported to another culture, and excited to share my international "labor of

love." And that's when Global Grub was born, making it easier for home cooks to enjoy

this same experience. I'd be honored if you welcomed Global Grub into your kitchen

to help you go on a cooking adventure of your own.”

- Carley Sheehy Global Grub Founder

"I made the tagine with couscous on Saturday, and it blew me away! What really did it was the sensual experience of it, emptying that spice packet so soon into the recipe, filling the air with unforgettable perfume. DIY Cooking Kits Giving back

Food is not only our passion; it is a fundamental need that

is not being met, so helping the fight against hunger has

always been an integral part of what we do. For every kit

sold, we donate a meal to someone in need through our

local food bank. We chose The Alameda County

Community Food Bank because we were startled by our

neighbors' needs, and impressed with the food bank's

immense impact:

• Serves 49,000 people each week, or 1 in 6 Alameda County residents (from Berkeley to Fremont, Oakland

to Livermore); Nearly half are children and teens

• In 2012, they distributed 23.2 million pounds of food - 53% of it fresh fruits and vegetables
